Editorial Review for Carmine's Steak House – by Carlotta and Scott Seely
The Scene
Your server: Quiet, attentive, a relaxed presence in a white apron. The room: Picture windows, soft music, mellow lighting. The patrons: Business people in suits, couples in black turtlenecks.
The Food
Try the 14-ounce New York strip with seasoned butter. Add garlic mashed potatoes and a Caesar salad with its assertive, tangy dressing. Other steaks range from an 8-ounce tenderloin rolled in cracked pepper to a 24-ounce Porterhouse. Seafood, pork chops, chicken and veal are also on the menu, but sauces can be over-done, while vegetables are a roll of the dice. But give in to your server. Let him guide you. If he murmurs that there are fresh strawberries in November, trust him. The evening will roll quietly away, and you will be happy. Just remember--Carmine's is a steakhouse.

My family recently celebrated an anniversary at Carmine's and we just loved it! We were met with friendly service at the door. The complimentary valet parking is a blessing downtown. I can't even begin to say enough good things about our waiter, Thomas; he was wonderful and made the evening even more memorable. I highly recommend that you don't pass up their homemade toasted ravioli. It's more like a flaky pastry, rather than the standard frozen t-ravs you'll find elsewhere. While my father had the scallops and loved them, most of us had one of Carmine's wonderful steaks. The cuts of beef are wonderful, portions plentiful, and prepared to perfection. I recommend the bone-in ribeye, medium or medium-rare! Oh, and don't forget about dessert. They have a delectable selection worthy of Carmine's menu.
Pros: Food, service
Cons: None

The unique, "bone in" steak is appreciated by those rare individuals who desire outstanding flavor and tenderness. I dine here frequently and count it as an unfound gem in the local dining scene. The steaks, salads, choice of potato, and outstanding service are on par with any of the top steak houses in the United States. The food is consistently good and well worth the value for the money!
Pros: quality of food, value, ambience
