Best Go Elsewhere. The best part is the interior. Very nice interior with lots of sitting room Went in after lunch rush. Food was mediocre and uninspiring. Nan (bread) was cold and lifeless. Trash was flowing out of the garbage cans. Food on steamtable had obviously been sitting there for awhile. India is known for its brewed teas? This place doesnt brew any beverages. Its either soda from the soda machine or one of their bottled beverages. Chicken Tikka was one of the worst I'd ever had - totally unappealing. Their "beef" dish was just barely seasoned meatballs in some sort of a sauce - even worse than the Chicken Tikka. And to top it off, the price was really expensive for a "fast lunch" place. I would never go back and would actively warn others to go elsewhere.
Classical Indian cuisine provides a low-key lunch stop..
The Scene
Downtown workers tired of the usual places come here for something different. Everything about this place entices you to relax and take a break from your day: the lighting is dim, the classical Indian music in the background is soft and the yellow walls remind you of the setting sun.
The Food
Step up to the counter and choose from an array of options. You can get a combo with two or three entrees--these rotate often and include Indian classics like tandoori chicken, lamb vindaloo, sag paneer and channa masala--plus basmati rice or vegetable biryani and nan (a soft flatbread). Two soups and two appetizers are also available. Try the dal soup and a smooth mango lassi (a yogurt-based fruit shake) for a lighter meal. Two entrees are always vegetarian, as are the appetizers and soups.
