The Scene – In a room of muted mustard, persimmon and avocado gather some of the city's most beautiful. Wear the thing hanging in your closet that makes you feel sophisticated, and you'll belong too. The atmosphere inspires an infectious desire for elegance and soon you may find yourself adding a flourish to the wrist as you pick up your fork. Dinner at Eau is a first-class dinner party; everyone's invited. – – The Food – Chef Rob Uyemura's menu is divided between small plates and large. They were busy, it was a Saturday night, but they appeared to be understaffed with underqualified waiters. Had to wait approx. 30 min for first round of drinks, waiter forgot one of two appetizers, my medium rare sirloin steak salad came medium well. I love the bar, but I'll never eat here again.

Chic doesn't come cheap

Definitely a trendy spot that doesnt overlook many details. The decor is elegant but with modern touches that keep it from being stuffy. I found it to be relaxing. The staff is professional. I dined on a Wednesday night at a little after 7:00 p.m.; I and my date were one of only two couples in the restaurant. I assume it is much busier on weekends, and the Eau cafe across the hall was doing a livelier business. The food was artistically presented and the wine list diverse. My hickory-smoked salmon was top-notch. The biggest disappointment was the television above the bar; I felt that it compromised the class and atmosphere of the restaurant; for the price I expected a little more formalitythe tv simply doesnt fit. I recommend Eau as a place for a quiet romantic evening.

  • Pros: elegant/chic decor, unique dishes, beatiful presentation
  • Cons: Television over bar
