Just home from a group birthday dinner
at 'Oh My Darline Cafe' at Clementines. My date was delivered a steak sandwich dinner that had a baby roach crawling on the plate. A number of people checked it out, and yes, it was a live roach. Told the waitress and she offered my date a free drink. And then delivered a bill that still had the roach infested steak sandwich on it, expecting to be paid! Or course it wasn't touched. Also gave us a box to take it home! Give me a break! Tells me this is a common enough occurrence that nothing is done when it happens! Never eating there again! Sharing this so you can be warned.

fun place/great value.
Been there many times and it's always busy for a reason. Friendly staff and reasonable priced drinks that aren't all watered down. The restraunt is great too. The prime rib is always a good choice. But actually you won't go wrong with anything on the menu. The crowd is beyond the "twinky" stage so the attitude is more mature. Don't get me wrong....preppy, suits, levi's, "as U are",, leather....I've seen them all at Clems. Women too. All are welcome there. The bar looks good too. The place isn't a "dive". Clean for a bar. Nice patio too. They close earlier than most bars because of being in Soulard neighborhood.

This Soulard favorite is one of the oldest gay bars in town..
Party!
During St. Louis' Mardi Gras festivities, Clem's is packed to the gills. As the unofficial headquarters of the GLBT community during the parades and parties, Clementine's is hot, hot, hot in February.
History Lesson
Clementine's location in historic Soulard is apt, since it's one of the oldest gay haunts in St. Louis. The scene leans toward the Levi's/leather cruise crowd but is also a nice place to just hang out and grab something to eat. The attached restaurant is--of course--called the Oh My Darlin' Cafe. If you need more incentive to check Clem's out, one of the bartenders was Mr. Missouri Leather 1997.
