Editorial Review for Central West End – by John S. McFarland
The Scene
In the Central West End, the singles scene, gay community and upwardly mobile families mingle rather affectionately. The nightlife is a bit more sedate compared to South Grand or the Loop, but it's far from dead. This is where the well-dressed come to sip cocktails under a cafe umbrella, where everyone comes to see and be seen.
The Stores
Restaurants take a good bit of space in the Central West End, and you'll find a little bit of everything: Italian, pan-Asian, Caribbean, French. If you're looking to buy antiques, this is the neighborhood for you. Check out West End Antiques and Geronimo's Cadillac. The city's best independent bookstore, Left Bank Books, is on Euclid, as are several clothing boutiques and home accessories stores. Don't miss Celadon, on the corner of Euclid and McPherson.

Located from Delmar and Euclid to Forest Parkway and Euclid. Tons of different little shops, restuarants, 24 hour coffee shop, a great Cigar and Wine place. Just to name a few where people can go enjoy relax and be themselves. Great for going out by yourself but especially wonderful if you are with friends.
Pros: great shops, atmosphere
Cons: parking is bad
