Mixed feelings – The first time I went to the Face and the Body spa I had a super nice lady that did my manicure and pedicure, she was very very good. That same first time I got a snobby girl for my facial, she was so uncaring about the whole process that I did not enjoy it. I decided to go back mainly because it is a convenient location and hours and because they offer a lot of services. I needed to get a manicure and also get my hair done. This was done in two separate days. I was not able to book the same gal that had done my nails on my first visit there, I got this angry lady that kept bitching about my nails. I had some designs on already on my nails that needed to be removed and she complained and complained that it would take her so long to remove the prior nail work, that she had no time for this, that she would need to cut down on my services, bla bla bla bla bla, horrible bitchy person. I had asked for nail design and was only able to get the design on two of my nails, out of ten!! I understand that they give time slots and the workers need to work within them but geesh, just 2? and on top of it hear a person bitch at you? When I went to pay I told the person there that I had only gotten two nails done and that please for next time they should give more time if someone asks for a nail design. I said this in a manner as if you know it was no ones fault, however the person at the front was like: you still have to pay for this nail art though. At no point did I say I was not going to pay for the work, so why get confrontational! The next day I went to get my hair done which was a total fiasco. The lady doing my hair bitched about me being late, then could not even do a ponytail right because she kept saying I had too much hair and she did not have the correct thing to tie it with. All I asked for was a simple ponytail with curls, the ponytail was saggy, and the curls about 10 minutes after I left the salon had become one massive curl. Horrible just horrible and for 70? I should have just gone to great clips and gotten the same thing for much much less. Not worth the time or money, the people there think to much of themselves. Out of four people that I received services from only 1 was good at her job and nice.
I JUST WANT TO SAY THAT I ENJOYED MY TIME AT THE SPA YESTERDAY. MY HAIR STYLIST, SABRINA...WAS AMAZING! SHE WAS KIND, BEAUTIFUL, RESPECTFUL AND GOOD AT WHAT SHE DOES. I WOULD DEFINATELY RECOMMEND HER TO ANYONE WITH ALL TYPES OF HAIR STYLES!!
Fabulous experience!! – LOVED it!!! My girl friend and I went to the Face and Body in Brentwood for a "mommies day out" and had a fabulous time. We were treated like royalty. We each got a massage and a spa pedicure. The massage was heavenly and the pedicure came out perfect. We both felt refreshed and can't wait to do it again. For the true spa feel, I would definitely go to F&B!!
Not worth the money – My sisters and I went to F&B in Brentwood. We purchased the aromatherapy massage and aromatherapy manicure for my sister. She said the only way you could tell the massage was aromatherapy was that there was a lit candle in the room. She's had massages at F&B before and knows what to expect. The aromatherapy manicure was an even bigger ripoff. While my other sister and I got express manicures, which were very good, she got the aromatherapy one. We were all together for the manicures and we could not find any difference in the services we got. I called the manager a few days later to complain and she was no help at all - just kept repeating what the services were supposed to include. She never acknowledged my complaint that the aromatherapy services just were not worth the money and that she had 3 UNHAPPY CUSTOMERS!
I should have known better than to return there. The last time my sisters and I went, the person giving me a facial spent most of the time selling products. And her hands were freezing - not a nice, relaxing experience. I shared that feedback with F&B on their website and heard nothing from them.
There are other great salons in St. Louis who will be happy to get business from me and my 2 sisters. I'll be heading to Ginger Bay Salon for my next spa visit.
Very disappointed – Very dissatisified with my facial there. I have had many facials and was in town and told that was the place to go. The esthetician seemed hurried and did not explain or assess my skin nor inform me as to tips on how to care for my skin/recommend product. I then was referred by my daughter weeks later about a place called Go! Spa in Des Peres. The esthetician's name was Abbey Lopez, she was very friendly. Amazing facial massage techniques and very knowledgable. I left feeling rejuvenated and well informed. Now when in town I know just the place to go and relax!
Don't waste your money or your time! – I was given a spa day for my 40th birthday. My best friend and I both went. We had massages, facial, and our nails done. The massage was great. Marie was very good. My facial was OK. I felt like I was attacked by a porcupine! She did mention the products several times and that I would have to come back weekly because of my large pores.
Everything was OK to this point, then the craziness begins. My friend and I were supposed to have our manicures done at the same time. When I was finished they told me to wait in the waiting area for my manicure. I waited and waited, finally they told me I was in the wrong place. I sat down to have the manicure, my friend was nowhere to be seen. She had been bumped by another customer so she had to wait. Then she asked for a french manicure. The lady had no idea what she was doing. It looked sloppy. As we were waiting to check out the receptionists received a personal phone call and we had to wait. My friend paid using her credit card, they did not give her a receipt, no thank you, good bye,....
The polish on my nails started chipping that night. My cuticles were ragged and my friend's french manicure was worn off by the next afternoon. One week later the salon called my friend and told her that they forgot to charge an extra $15.00 for the french manicure. She paid them, then called me. I spoke with the manager at the time and all she would offer was a sign up for the preferred customers. Like I was going to go back there!
Not worth the time or the money. Very pricey for some things that were a mediocre service. Beware! Happy Birthday to me!
Rina Tesler is the Best! – I have been to many spas around St. Louis in search of a good facial, and Rina Tesler is hands down the best! She is so sweet, and never snooty, and has the best hands. I have been a virgin to waxing, and have let her be the first to give me a leg and bikini wax, and I have to say the results were amazing. My favorites are her facials and glycolic peels. I have been getting compliments left and right about my skin, and I feel so confident after a visit with her. I always cared for my skin, and I know the treatments are a little pricy, but I have found that I am more willing to spend money on great products that she recommends after seeing these results for the past few months. I know that Rina has been in the business for several years and is very well educated, she recommends but never pushes, and it is so nice to meet someone with integrity! Thanks you Rina, you have a client for life!
I'm through. – I've been a regular at Face & Body since 2001. My first visit was a facial; I later added massages and nail treatments as routine thereafter. The downward spiral began after a management change several years ago. Since then truly quality people were severed from the company (realeased and pressured out). When I continued my loyalty with F&B and continued my facials there with a different aesthetician, I was strongly pushed to purchase products throughout the session -- not a relaxing experience in the least. Lately scheduling an appointment has been the problem for me. The recent changes to their website have locked me out because I haven't registered at their front desk for online access, and calling has put me into an automated system death spiral. Enough is enough. My apologies to my service providers. I'm through with F&B.
A lot of money for spotty services – I've been to both F&Bs a few times (nails, hair removal, massage) and I've bought a whole lot of gift certificates there -- it's time to stop. I usually walk out thinking that I could have had just as good a service at another place for less money. The environment is nice (well, the Clarkson site has cheesy wall art, but still...), but the staff are not trained in customer service skills (note to staff: standing in a pack at the front desk may make you fee more secure, but it is off-putting to people walking in), and some of the services that should be included are not (eyebrow tinting did not include wax touch up or trim). If they're aiming to be a east/west coast type of place, I've got news: services are cheaper and better in other cities for similar facilities. I'd pass.
A great spa expeience – Great Friendly service. Not to busy. One caution is a reservation is required. Recommended spa service is a massage.
