Best hairstylist: Billy Fonner. I recently moved to St. Louis from San Francisco, CA and have had a very difficult time finding a stylist with a level of expertise that I was used to. I tried all the salons in the CWE and went as far as St. Charles in my search. I finally found Mr. Billy Fonner at Bouffant Daddy in Maplewood and I couldn't be happier. He has an intuitive understanding of what to do with my hair. I can relax and enjoy the conversation knowing that it will be looking great every time. I highly recommend Billy, he's the best!

Billy is a must see!. If it weren't for Billy at Bouffant Daddy, I probably would have shaved my head by now. After listening to my life-long struggle with my hair, he explained exactly how he was going to cut it and why. He even spent about 20 minutes just talking to me about different products and how to style my new 'do. I know that much information might confuse some other people, but it's so refreshing to find someone who will spend the time to teach people and not just wildly style your hair and send you on your way. Bottom line, I now love my curls for themselves and even have fabulous highlights to boot. I've personally sent 2 of my friends and we wont be going to anyone else but him.

PS, the shop is adorable and Billy and the rest of the staff there are fun and really nice

Meh.. I've had really great cuts here before - about two years ago, with a stylist who's since left. She took her time, knew my hair, was friendly, and did a great job explaining why certain layers/cuts would or wouldn't work.

However, about six weeks ago, I had a cut with a new stylist, Billy, and it's been the WORST cut I've had since I started getting "curly" cuts. My has been in some kind of ponytail every single day since the cut - and not even a cute one, since the layers are funny and stick out weirdly when up. I didn't feel listened to, even when I did ask about certain techniques. At the end of my appointment, he told me his work was "guaranteed" and he'd fix it if I didn't like it in a week. From the conversation we'd had, I already knew he didn't know how to fix what I didn't like through the conversation we'd just had, so I haven't been back and don't plan to see him if I do go.

Other than this last experience, I can say that it's a pretty great salon and they use some of the best products I've every tried. I know that some of the stylists are great, but I'd advise new clients (either new to the salon or seeking a new stylist at BD) to get a consultation first!

Best Haircut!. St. Louis is my hometown, I have lived there for over 12 years but now I am away at college. When visiting St. Louis early this October, I decided it was time for a haircut because I was shagging out after letting it grow for a few months. My problem is that a new haircut always seems like I'm gambling with my looks. Andrea at Bouffant Daddy put those fears to rest and I left looking and feeling great!

The location is fun and laid back. A variety of interesting decor adorn the studio. As mentioned before, they seem to have fun but at the same time deliver an expert, professional service. I was very pleased with the care and attention I received from Andrea as she cut and washed my hair. I recommend that anyone who needs their "herr did" go to Bouffant Daddy and be Andrea's client.

If I could afford to fly to MO to have Billy cut my hair.... I would.

It's fair to say I'd given up on having anything but wild, frizzy, unmanageable curly hair until I met Billy. Not only does he give a fantastic cut, he has a huge amount of knowledge and advice about how to live with and love your curls.

Billy is an artist. He has an innate sense of shape and form and balance and proportion, *and* he has the technical hair-cutting skills to realize his vision on your head.

Bonus points: he's hysterical and he's cute.

Wouldnt know what I would do without my stylist. Billy has been cutting my hair for the last year and I wont go anywhere else. He know how to cut a good shape. I am a guy and shape of the hair is everything when it comes to short men's cuts. I am just saying if you want a good cut. Go see Billy

Billy is amazing!. I recently went to see Billy for the first time and had an amazing experience! As a curly haired girl, I have suffered through decades of horrible haircuts. It is incredible to finally have a stylist who not only understands how to work with my hair, but is excited to do so!

Billy listened to what I was looking to do, added some of his own thoughts, and we were off. I left with an amazing cut and style, and for a pleasant change, didn't have to run home and re-style my hair. Billy is professional, conversational, pleasant and just downright adorable!!

Extra extra read all about ......Billy Fonner. I have been looking for a good hairdresser for almost 8 years, no joke. I have, had extremely short, spiky, layered hair and wanted to grow it out. I kept getting the same answers and cuts and they were awful! I spent a lot of time and money on bad styles while trying to grow it out I finally gave up and just kept cutting it short! I met Billy Fonner and let him try to do what many others have miserably failed at and have never been as happy as I have the past 5 months! My hair is now in a gorgeous stylish page boy style and I get so many compliments on the color per day. I have not had hair this length in over 15 years and he has made growing it out fun, exciting, and easy! He is very professional and amazing at what he does! I would never go to anyone else to cut or color or even wax my brows now that I have met him!
