ABSOLUTELY LOVE TAWANDA!. I have had my hair natural for over 6 years now and I get tired of straightening it all the time. So I decided to go down the street and try a new salon. The beautician I had was Tawanda and she did an awesome job! My hair has never lasted so long and looked so beautiful, especially with a flat iron alone. She also clipped my end and made sure that I was comfortable with my length and look. I will definately be back to see what other stiyles I can have created other than just straightening!

Shi Salon is the best!. I absolutely love Shi Salon! I had several friends recommend the salon to me, and I am so glad that I listened to their advice. I had a bad experience in the past with a relaxer so I decided to grow out my natural hair again. I love the styles that Tawanda creates and my hair finally feels beautiful again. She is the best!

Helped me shine at my 40th Birthday Party. I was given my Shi Salon experience as a 40th Birthday gift..my party theme "Roaring 20's" & Constance gave your girl a sexy roaring 20"s hairdo that had everyone giving many compliments..She took time to consult with me because my hair was in bad shape thanks to a bad color job..She corrected the color, cut & styled & I looked like a new person...Thanks Constance & Shi for making me 40 & Fabulous

Tiffany @ SHI SALON. I have spent sooo long trying to find the perfect stylist! One who is concerned about hair care, timeliness, and keeping up with the current hair trends. I found all of that in my stylist Tiffany at SHI SALON! When I first started going to Tiffany I was what you would call a very traditional in the box kinda of person. My hair was natural and I only wanted it pressed...but after several experiences with Tiffany she convinced me to jump out of my box and before I knew it I was showing off my new sexy trendy hair cut! I ABSOLUTELY loved it and got soooo many compliments from it! Thanks Tiffany for being the awesome professional trendy stylist you are!

LOVE IT!!!. I went to Shi Salon as a birthday treat last year... It has now became a ritual for myself & bestie to go down for a sexy style for special occassions. Although it is a bit pricey, the customer service is beyond what you would expect. Everyone is kind & courteous. Beautiful upscale chic decor... You wouldn't be disappointed with the end result. The stylists know hair and also offers tips for better homecare of your hair. I have an appointment on the 19th (June) and can't wait to get in the chair. I strongly suggest Shi Salon

AT LAST!!! Happy w/NATURAL Hair!!. Enhanced Parking and consistency of the receptionist would be welcomed; however: At Last!! After 4 years of 'trying' to maintain and remain a NATURAL girl, it was frustrating and very tempting to go back to the Dis-Ease of a Relaxer. THANK GOD for Madam C.J. Walker...Constance, You have taken over!! I L.O.V.E. my hair now. Have not worn weave/wigs in over 1 year to alleviate the headache of a bad hair day. Constance shampoo and style my natural hair bi-weekly. I feel that I can truly now say "My hair is My glory." Love the atmosphere of the salon. Stylists are upscale, upbeat, and pleasant. Serene Music is always an added value!! Well worth the visits!! Thanks for the GOoD Works Ladies!! God Bless.

RUDE RECEPTIONIST. I have been to this location previously and had an okay experience. It is a little run down and the bathroom was disgusting. However, my hair dresser was great and extremely personable. She also helped me to decide on a few things that I was testing with my hair and gave me some good advice.

I was willing to go back and endure the heat (when I went it was summer and they must not have AC), and the lack of following a schedule (I had an appointment and didn't get in for 30 minutes after my appointment).

However, I was new to St. Louis and did not have a lot of experience with people knowing how to cut my biracial hair. So, I was willing to go back.

Today I was calling to make an appointment and the receptionist answered the phone and then began to get rude with me. I was merely asking her for appointment times and then when I didn't answer right away she YELLED "Can you hold?" with a definite attitude. As I was shocked and did not answer right away she yelled it again TWO times and then just clicked HOLD. I hung up.

Now, I understand that they provide quality service. But I can go somewhere else to receive quality service and GREAT customer service. I will NOT be returning. First impressions are key!!

TERRIBLE Service- No Show by the Owner!. I had an appointment with Tiffany, the owner of the Salon, at 8:00 am. When I had called to make the appointment, I explained to Tiffany that I was getting married in a few weeks and was hoping for a great hair cut. She explained how she would do a consultation before the cut.

My appointment was the first of the morning, and my visit began by having to wait for someone to come open the locked salon. The employee did not arrive until approximately 8:05, five minutes after my appointment.

I sat in the salon for approximately 20 minutes, and finally asked whether my appointment was in fact at 8:00 or if I had the time wrong. I was told that Tiffany was "running a little late".

Around 8:30, an employee decided to wash my hair, as Tiffany still had not arrived. I was unhappy that my hair would be washed before meeting with the stylist for a consultation, but by that point, I was more interested in saving some time.

By 8:45, Tiffany still had not arrived. I asked for an update and was told that she was "on her way". Another employee told me he was going to blow dry my hair, which I refused. I've never heard of having your hair dried BEFORE the cut. After I refused the blow dry, the employee walked away rudely.

At 9:00, one hour after my appointment, Tiffany still had not arrived, so I left the salon.

I was extremely disappointed and frustrated with this experience. There was a complete lack of professionalism from the entire staff. No one acknowledged that Tiffany was extremely late, and I was only given "updates" when I asked. No one ever apologized for the inconvenience. I expected a call or card from Tiffany/the salon apologizing for the situation, especially considering that I was coming in as a bride before my wedding, but I never heard anything from the salon.

Stay away from Shi-- they are completely rude and unprofessional!
