Unexpected service Jan 10, 2012 stevem

Put off for some time the necessary repairs to our 2000 Volvo S80. When we could go - literally - no further, and our local independent garage said the issue was beyond their capability/ability, I went to Google and searched for STL independent Volvo service companies, as I had no desire to pay the local dealership shop charges. Found Auto Evaluators. The only negative with my experience is that I wish I had found them before this. Tony was terrific, service completed as promised, on-time. And I feel we received a fair value on money side. Certainly want companies to make their fair share; just hate it when we, as consumers, are taken advantage of. NOT the case with Auto Evaluators. Five stars

Have owned Volvos for 23 years and have come to rely on Auto Evaluators to provide professional service and advice. We have bought three Volvos from Mark Dirsa and his crew of mechanics have helped us keep them running... When someone asks me for auto mechanic referenece, without hessitation I tell them to go to Auto Evaluators!

good staff and professorial. last night some mechanic told me that i have to change some part in my car which cost more than $250, but after i go to Auto Evaluators they tell me there is no problem with my car. ;)

Top Notch in Every Way!. I am so happy I discovered Auto Evaluators 13 years ago! At the time of my first purchase, I was 19 years old and thought I had really 'arrived in life' when I pulled out of their lot driving a navy blue 850 with over 100,000 miles. Since then, I have bought 4 more cars and have had all my cars serviced with Auto Eval. As a single woman, I am a bit apprehensive when it comes to cars and maintenance, but I have continuted to be amazed and overwhelmed with the integrity and honesty of Mark Dirsa. I have always been well taken care of by Mark, and have never worried about being ripped off. If you are considering purchasing a Volvo, or looking to have your Volvo serviced, you should not be going anywhere in St. Louis other than Auto Evaluators! Mark, Pat, Diane, and Shirley will take excellent care of you!

Me the repair was covered under a recall. No Charge!!

The dealer was going to charge me for the repair!

Auto Evaluators is great good christian people!

Extremely disappointed. My check engine light came on, so i took it to auto evaluators. I was very disappointed when they charged me for 2 hours of labor ($98/hr) just to spend 1.5 hours updating the software on my volvo. As a first time customer, it felt like a HUGE rip off.

beware, beware. We took our car in when the "Check Engine" light came on, and because our car smelled of gas. We were happy to pay for the gas line repair, and even for the thermostat replacement we didn't know we needed (and still aren't sure about), but they also charged us $75 just to READ the computer code for the check engine light. Yes, that's 45 minutes "labor" to read the code. And no, they didn't "diagnose" why the code was triggered, just figured it had to do with the gas leak and reset it. I've tried to contact the owners about this ridiculous charge, but they don't return my email. Huh, go figure.

My advice: you can get the same level of competence and much fairer pricing elsewhere.

Great Service. Auto Evaluators is a great place to take a car. I have taken my vovle their a few times now and really enjoy the people working there. They are all very knowledgeable and help me with all my question. I would definitely recommend them to family and friends.

Great service, great effort, great people. Dana and the people at Auto Evaluators have always steered us right on all our repairs, with great honesty and integrity. We got a bum steer from the dealer on what needed to be done and Auto Evaluators helped us sort out a big safety issue that was under warranty, which they didn't have to bother with. Always feel like the work is thoroughly explained to me, not like some places that talk down to a woman like you are a car moron! Highly recommended.

An honest, dedicated shop. I have taken my Volvos to AutoEvaluators for 10+ years. I am a dedicated customer because they know their business. The mechanics get to the bottom of each issue. The shop is honest and fair.
