Editorial Review for Absolutli Goosed Martini Bar, etc. – by Cindy Teasdale
The Scene
This petite South Grand haunt draws consistent crowds with its come-as-you-are vibe and ab-fab drinks. Crimson walls and matching sconces provide a spicy setting for hush-hush trysts or rowdy get-togethers, and jovial waitstaff keeps you on your toes with a tad of attitude mixed into every drink. Regulars are as varied as the 120-drink menu, from Wash U. profs to cross-dressers to downtown developers and West county socialites.
The Draw
In addition to the old standards that inspired the bar's name, you'll find an exhaustive list of vodka and gin offerings--including the dangerously smooth Ciroc, which tastes more like Evian than Absolut. Take some time to browse the concoctions categorized by type (fruity, classics, etc.) and theme (Bond girls, personality type, etc.). A limited food menu offers typical bar fare like cheese quesadillas and veggies with dip. Those in-the-know go for a chocolate Dixie Normous martini served with whole banana instead.

Insider Tips
Save MoneyHappy hour goes until 8pm on weekdays and all day Sunday, which means half-priced appetizers and martini specials, including the infamous "fourth martini's free."
Save TimeBeware the occasional wait on busy nights. For groups of more than 10, call in advance to make sure you can be accommodated.

Not sure what happened in the last few months. Heard there was a new owner. Place has gone down hill quickly. Wouldn't waste my time here! They were out of everything my party wanted and the service was so slow I could have gone somewhere else and bought a drink and brought it back by the time I finally got one here. The new bartender with the bad blue eyeshadow is NOT a bartender but trying to play one. Seems like a misfire iwht the new ownership. Too bad....used to love this place. Won't go back, neither will my friends.
Pros: NONE
Cons: Scary Blue Eyeshadow Lady. Bar Service

I recently moved to the area and conveniently enough I moved to Wyoming St. (which is the cross street for Goosed). I came across this groovy bar on this website and went one day to check it out, and it has been our Monday evening after-work, unwind hangout ever since. The eye-popping list of martinis and clever names assigned to each one make for a great conversation and relaxing atmosphere. The buffalo mozz sticks and the cheese bread are musts, especially at half price for happy hour. The service is prompt, helpful and always in great spirits. I will be there again tonight and invite whoever to join our Monday night martini group, at Goosed!
Pros: liqour selecton, service, atmosphere, outdoor seating
Cons: closed on Sunday
