Could use some work!. I've been going here for years and all problems with the club can be traced directly to the owner. The place runs better when he stays away. The drinks there are horrid. Even if you are friends with the waitresses, tip them well, you will still pay premium price for a SUCK-*SS mixed drink! This is Belleville now, and folks up that way want a mixed drink to be decent, but these are the worst value I've found in the whole area. This probably accounts for the lack of people there on the night I was. The food there varies, but is well-prepared. The bands are very sub-par, and I know the reason is because Bobby the owner has pissed off every decent band in the area. They are classic double-bookers (booking two bands at the same time) and over the years I've heard of this happening 100's of times. P*ss-poor people skills! They often don't tell a band if they've been cancelled and or double booked and wait for the two bands to show up and let them fight it out amongst themselves. I think the time is ripe for another club to come along that does it right and Schatze's will be a distant memory of what people used to do before there was somewhere else to go. The only way this place will overcome it's problems is if Bobby retires or strokes out.
