My experience at local coffee house (Sacred Grounds)

by frogking

I don't know if there is a best or perfect coffee house for me because my likes and dislikes are so unique.

What I will say about sacred grounds is how I feel when I visit there for my coffee pleasures. I would enjoy the entrance a little more if i didn't have to navigate through peoples, but that's just me. There is always a display of fine art by local artist along the walls. The service leaves you feeling relaxed. Some attendants make better espresso than others, but I find that most places. Different times of day draw different crowds. The roasted beans and varieties are top grade and very aromatic...emmm! Now a few small changes would make this coffee house prime on the charts. At the present time, this is by far the best coffee house in the county and most adjoining areas. Nice people here too! : )

More than an Oasis

Living in town seven + years. Coming from the fickle North East, Ive seen 'em come n go. SGs, imo, has set the course for down town Main Street, Edwardsville. Since opening, 7 + years ago, of late many other eclectic and otherwise diverse establishments have drawn along in 'her' pioneering wake. Being first, though, is not enough in a competitive small town "scene". So far so good. SGs seems to be going with the flow in a maturing environment. Steer clear of the ersatz! Keep up the real difference!

  • Pros: Ambience, Laid Back Usually, Food Quaility
  • Cons: Busy Kid Traffic (PM), Slow Weekend Service

Cozy

by devegluva

I love sacred grounds. I have been going to sacred for the last 2 years at least once a week. The atmosphere is so great. They have local art work that is displayed on a wall which is allways changing. They have board, card, and trivia games that you are free to use. One of the coolest things is they have toy ninjas hidden around the shop and you get to search for them. The workers are so fun, especially this british girl who rocks my world. They also have a great eggplant sandwich to accompany their wide choice of coffees and teas. :-D

  • Pros: Inexpensive, good parking, nice bathrooms
