A comfortable return to a bygone era.. The Scene
This historic hotel was renovated in 1996 and greets guests with authentic western style. It's located along the Mississippi River's Great River Road, and during the winter months, it's just a short drive to view bald eagles fishing in the locks and dams or roosting in trees along the riverbanks.

The Details
Small, well-appointed rooms feature aged wood trim and rustic Old West colors. In the saloon adjacent to the lobby, you can easily imagine rambunctious cowboys and 19th-century river men cozying up to the bar. For those who want to travel back in time, stagecoach rides depart from the front of the hotel on weekends and in the evenings. The tour guides are well-informed and are happy to guide visitors to historic sites they might have otherwise missed.
