In Short
Considered a founding father of American casual dining, Houlihan's transformed its once-kitschy decor and meat-and-potatoes menu into a contemporary restaurant serving eclectic cuisine. Geared toward a slightly more upscale crowd, warmer colors and modern art adorn the walls, while Indie rock tunes and a patio leading to a walk-around bar remind you that you're not in Kansas anymore. The globetrotting menu juxtaposes classic burgers and wings with innovative selections like tuna wontons and herb-cheese stuffed mushrooms.

From their Ahi Tuna appetizer, to their wonderful Baked Potato soup, to their really affordable appetizers, Houlihan's has been a treat every time. We are big fans!

I'm not a fan of chain restaurants, but I can't stay away from this one. Their rich, hearty potato soup is simply the best there is. Appetizers are creative and imaginatively presented, dinners are hearty and tasty with a wide variety of choices. I usually enjoy the Tuscan bean salad -- light, fresh and unusual -- and a fish dish or pot roast. Fish tacos make a nice lunch, too.
