Editorial Review for Luna – by Cindy Teasdale
In Short
With plush velvet curtains, fluid lines of the sleek bar and the casual elegance of the attractive (mostly male) waitstaff, Luna exudes a sophistication rarely found in St. Louis. This is not a surprise considering the lounge's ownership, the brotherhood behind the ever-fashionable Bar Italia. Patrons dress the part in their high-fashion best while eyeing each other over sweet chocolate martinis.

Three months into my residency I was introduced by a local to this little gem. The space is cool and the vibe is warm. After having been twice I felt like a regular, being a bit homesick I seriously appreciated it. This place almost doesnt fit in St. Louis, it makes sense in SoHo or Potrero Hill but in Missouri?? Its a highly educated somewhat liberal and worldly crowd. The staff is very cool and very smart., the music is outstanding, very progresive and light years beyond what I've heard elswhere in town. If you get there early you can eat great appetizers....but thats hit or miss. The only complaint I have is about the hours....they close by 1:30 and are only open on the weekends.
Pros: cool staff, intelligent people, great music
Cons: Hours, no food after ten, Grappa hates my tummy
