view & uploadHorrible Experience. I had a horrible experience at the Chocolate Bar. My friends and I (all over the age of 22) were there for drinks and dessert. One friend did not have her id but said it was fine not to drink. The rest of us ordered drinks and were carded. The manager then came over and demanded that we all needed to leave. He was rude and created a scene. He was so loud that all of the tables around us were staring. We tried asking what the problem was, but the manager cut us off and continued to yell that we all needed to leave. We left and will not return again.
delicious. I've never been happier with a restaurant experience. The service was quick, and the drinks are absolutely sublime. I would recommend it to anyone!
Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate!.
My husband took me here for our anniversary. He had the chocolate beer shake which we both enjoyed. Something you would not think tastes anything good but in fact tasted very delicious.
The atmosphere was very romantic (in the back area). The waitress was very helpful and knew what to recommend when asked questions.
I always recommend this place to anyone who wants to try something different.
cozy little spot. had the white hot chocolate with bailey's irish cream and it was to die for! the waitress was very helpful and all of the staff was very friendly. the atmosphere was cozy and sophisticated. loved it!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED - We will be back again many times for sure. Thank you..
FIrst, it's hard to get a 5 star from me. Those are reserved for really the best of the best. This place is pretty good though.
We stopped in after a dissappointing night at Modesto (not recommended).
We were seated quickly, had a large group, and the hostess was VERY KIND to do everything she could do to accomodate us on a busy Saturday Night: A+
The 3 items I tried were a banana bread split, a flourless molten chocolate cake with coffee ice cream, and the bread pudding. All 3 were fabulous. A+
I enjoyed a couple of great cups of coffee with Baileys, and tried my wife's martini which was some kind of milk chocolate martini - fantastic. Yummy. They could get you in big trouble.
The atmosphere was trendy, electric, and really fun. Nice little spot in Lafayette square.
Our waitress was extremely nice and very attentful. Never made us feel like we were putting her out. Thank you for that.
Really enjoyed our night cap and will for sure be back again. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
Possibly My Favorite Place Ever. Me and two of my friends went to St. Louis on a college trip circa 2004. In short, whenever we get together and travel we STILL talk about this place. My friend bought a cheesecake there and took one bite.. pulled the fork out of his mouth and said, "I do believe this is the best cheesecake I've ever had." I like stout beers and they had a "stout beer float" that was surprisingly good. Basically, this place specializes in alcoholic drinks and deserts, which is a strange combination that they somehow get to work well. They also played a bunch of music that I had never heard before but I really liked EVERY SINGLE song. Our waitress was hot and as nice as she could be. I don't know if it was just a good night for them, or if they're always like that, but if I ever return to St. Louis I WILL go back to Bailey's. If I ever move to St. Louis I'll make sure I live within walking distance. I normally don't gush about places, but it really was a great experience there. It would be an ABSOLUTELY PERFECT place to take a date.
BEST Date Night Spot. Great atmosphere, awesome service, and overall incredible food and drinks. We went earrlier in the evening at it wasn't crowded...they have patios seating available, too. I highly recommend this place to hang out, eat, or drink great drinks. Not the best if you are really really hungry.
Awesome desserts and drinks!. Awesome desserts and drinks!! We stopped here for dessert after dining down the block at Ricardo's. The chocolate bar my wife had and my banana split were incredible. The Dark Chocolate Raspberry Martini I had was awesome. The atomsphere was cozy and very cool. (It was decorated in red and black colors). The service was just ok, though. I think our waitress was overwhelmed with all of her tables, there were only two working our room and the patio. It is in a nice location (Lafayette Square). Parking is where you can find a spot on the street.
The chocolate fragrance alone..... Nestled in a hip area, the Chocolate Bar is one of my favorites! Whether you choose to eat pizza there or at another great Lafayette local...SAVE ROOM FOR DESSERT! The chocolate martinis are my favorite, but I have spent an evening trying their assortment of fine beers....the Black and Red or the cinnamon beer shake is a must try for the beer lovers.
great end to a date. Bailey's Chocolate Bar is the best place to end a romantic date. The drinks and desserts are all delish!
