I have consumed Japanese food around the world - and I lived a block from a great Japanese sushi restaurant in California. So for St. Louis, Tokyo Sushi is just fine. Very authentic and real flavors and its prepared the way it is supposed to be. One reviewer was complaining that he did not feel full or get enough to eat - well either buy more or go pig out at a cheap buffet. Sushi is supposed to be minimalist cuisine, its about eating small amounts but savoring the flavor. atmosphere is very traditional Japanese, clean, serene, good service.

Best Sushi south of I-44. We have been going to Tokyo Sushi for about 6 months regularly. The sushi is always fresh, the staff are always friendly and remember us and what we tend to order. They also serve a great strip steak and baked salmon. My mother-in-law loves their shrimp tempura and says it is the best she has ever had. The batter is light and crispy -- like it has been cooked in fresh, clean oil.

I have been impressed by the consistency of the quality of their sushi. I always try a different special sushi roll (the special rolls change frequently).

If you like sea urchin, it is always delicious. We have found it difficult to find good sea urchin elsewhere. It is one of our favorites.

The restaurant is small but cozy with a modest decor. It is always a great dining experience.

We love Tokyo Sushi. My boyfriend and I have had a lot of sushi from a variety of places and we like Tokyo Sushi the best. The atmosphere is very relaxed and comfortable. This restaurant doesn't try to be overly trendy and sophisticated but is still very clean and nice. The service is wonderful. The owner is always there and remembers us when we come in. We even were out of the state for almost 1.5 years and she remembered us after all that time when we came back to eat. The food is good, too. It tastes very fresh and flavorful. I don't think this restaurant is very expensive either. I highly recommend giving it a try.

Go to Nippon Tei Instead!. This place is just sad! Go to Nippon Tei in Ballwin instead. It's worth the drive. I have been to Tokyo Sushi about ten times (only because it's the closest). I have never left there full or satisfied. I have been to just about every sushi place in St Louis, and this is my least favorite. I looked at the reviews and I am shocked that most of the reviews were positive. STOP POSTING REVIEWS IF YOU HAVE NEVER HAD GOOD SUSHI! This place serves Deirbergs quality sushi at the highest price you can find in St Louis. The last time I placed a carry-out order they gave me the wrong roll and charged me for it($2 more than the one I ordered). $24 for one dinner and I'm still hungry. I go to Nippon Tei in Ballwin a lot for lunch ($8) and I always get stuffed and feel like I gave my money to good people. Tokyo Sushi is the place to go if you want low grade sushi at the highest price and you want to feel guilty for wasting your money.

They're back!!!!. I am so happy Tokyo Sushi is open again after a fire forced it to close this past winter. This is a very good sushi restaurant. The menu is extensive, the ingredients fresh and prices comparable to - if not better than - some other restaurants in town. The staff is always friendly and very helpful. Why travel any further when an excellent meal can be had right here in your own neighborhood?

Food ok service great prices high. The food had a good overall taste. Was a bit blan for me. Prices were high compaired to others in the area. Check out oishi on new balas or the valley. But for truly excellent susji go to wassabi in rolla missouri or downtown st. Louis

Awesome!. If you love Sushi this is a wonderful place to go. They have reasonable prices, friendly people, and amazing fresh sushi. This is not a place you will be disappointed by going to. They have very little parking but really not a big issue. Your seated fairly quickly, if you have to wait it is usually no longer than 5 min. It is just a very relaxing place to eat.

Great Sushi, Great Service!. I'm a huge sushi fan, and Tokyo Sushi did not disappoint! The selection is great and the taste is even better! The service is fast and friendly and the prices are just right. I highly recommend this to any sushi lover!
