I liked it a lot. My first time in a Jamaican restaurant. I was the only table in there. Food was LARGE portions and seasoned really well. Great pork and cabbage with onions and tomatoes. Great rum cake. Small place but will go back. Not really set up for super large groups. Place only holds about 25 people if that. But for a date or small group I think it was great.

No Palm tree for me!. Let me start by saying that I've gone there once before & had a great experience. But the last two times were terrible! I went with a large party of people and ordered curry goat. Service was SUPER slow, my goat STILL had dirt in it; i felt like I was eating a plate of tender sand, onions, carrots,and potatoes!! As we checked out they picked and chose who they wanted to charge gratuity to. It was brought to our attention by the waitress that they weren't going to charge gratuity b/c they knew the party thrower. They then felt that some people weren't giving them enough so they decided to charge them gratuity. HELLOOOO the service sucked!! Especially for damn near $14 a plate!! TODAY (June 13th 2009) my friend BEGGED me to go so I gave it another chance..Bad move! It took literally 15 minutes for us to get greeted with water and menus. mind you, it was only 2 other small tables there. THEN it too FOREVER for the food to come. My meat and potatoes were luke warm and my cabbage and rice&beans were scorching HOT! As I bit down into the rice I began to almost broke my teeth on the hard rice that had burned on the bottom of the cooking device. The beans were burned. I spent my whole time picking rice out of my mouth like fish bones. NO ONE came to check on us. my friend needed a napkin. she never got it. I needed water. My cup was bone dry! How about I didn't get any water until the COOK came out and gave us our check? and I had to ask for it!! just sad, so sad. I'm so done with de palm tree..If you like cold sandy meat,burnt rice&beans, and to choke on your food with no water, I highly recommend DE PALM TREE!!
