Not for the true sushi eater.
Went to Tani for my birthday. I am a true sushi lover and have experienced great sushi in St. Louis as well as in other parts of the country. Tani however is not on my list. It is more a place to see and be seen and pretend the tempura drenched over sauced rolls that are deep fried are somehow sushi.
I feel sorry for someone who tried this place as their first experience. A person Another person in our party had a non sushi item (Teriyaki Salmon) and said it was great. The nigri wasnt the best (not very fresh) and we ordered three rolls non of which were edible and I sent them back. My advice, go to Nippon Tei or Fuji if you are down in south county (Imperial, Mo) both are excellent.

Worst sushi and service in town.
My boyfriend and I are sushi enthusiast. We were very excited to try this restaurant since it can recommended to us. So we made reservations for a Friday night. When we arrived we still waited 15 to 25 minutes for our table. Then we had to wait another 20 minutes before we were even greeted or brought a drink. After we ordered we had to wait an entire hour for our food and it left much to be desired. The waitress made excuse after excuse for the service. All in all I would NEVER recommend this restaurant to anyone and I will NEVER return.
