Worst Customer Service
by Speech12
On Saturday, April 26, 2008 I Went to see John Witherspoon, he was good. The St. Louis comedian that came on before him was excellent. There was a two drink mimimum.I asked the waitress for a Bloody Screamin Orgasim, I explained what was in it. She brought me back some brown sh** in a shot glass. I told her it was not what I ordered. She stated that she was not taking it back. I didn't drink it. She kept coming back and badgering me like a bill collector asking what my second item was going to be all while John Witherspoon was on and she was tapping me on my shoulder constantly. This was unnecessary and uncalled for. Because of her I will not return to St. Louis Comedy Club. This all stems down to poor management and I'm sure he (D Lee) knows whats going on.
- Pros: Comedians
- Cons: Customer Service, value, parking

The nicest comedy club I've ever been in
by carpathia33
I've seen a lot of comedy clubs between Chicago and St. Louis, and Laughs by far is the nicest I've been to. Brick and stone archways everywhere, exposed ductwork and wooden ceilings, neat furniture...not the typical dark smokey room that most clubs are. It stands out from the rest of the Landing, especially when compared to some of the low rent places like Club Buca and Study Hall. The food is nothing special--kind of what you would expect from a bar on the Landing. Laughs has had a spotty past with comedy: they started out offering only Improv (like "Whose Line is it Anyway"), but have recently switched over to stand up comedy. They're also starting to bring in better names, including several finalists from Last Comic Standing.
Laughs is set apart from other comedy clubs due to the fact that they have a lounge area attached to the comedy club. The lounge has some comfortable furniture, a neat bar made of concrete, chrome, and steel, and it's a good spot to people watch (huge windows!). After the shows, the atmosphere in the lounge could use some spicing up, since most of their music does come from their internet jukebox. Maybe throw some DJs in there when the shows are over? Another thing that sets Laugs apart from its competition: after the show, you can usually have a drink in the lounge with the comedians you just saw on stage! Overall, a good place to go on the Landing to see a good stand-up show.
- Pros: Nice Atmosphere, bigger names, fair drink prices, nice furniture
- Cons: Crowded in the theater, waiting in line to buy tickets, need to spice up the lounge area
