Best Massage Ever. After the doctor had taken me off a prescription that I had been on for almost two years, I suffered tremendous withdraws. I was very sick and my mind was being challenged by not feeling very well for so many days. My fiancé treated me to a massage and he also received one too. The technician I had was fantastic techniques ranged from traditional healing methods to other methods he had acquired from training out of the country. He was educated in the art of healing. For the first time in weeks my body and mind were at peace and I was able to come home and sleep like I hadn't in weeks. I will return to this technician and not only was the customer service good but the bed side manner was amazing. Words can't thank this spa enough for the care I received. My fiancé had a different tech and he said it was also the best massage he had ever had. We will never go any place else.
Fantastic service by an extremely talented staff. I have been a customer of Elegant Designs Day Spa since 2004 and I cannot say enough about the talented staff who work at the salon and spa. Seven years ago I was given a free hair cut coupon, so I decided to give them a try. Now 7 years later I still get my hair done there and I think I've tried just about every spa treatment they offer. I highly recommend the massages as well as the pedicures!! Treat yourself at Elegant Designs Day Spa, you'll never regret it. Take it from a long-term satisfied customer.
EXCELLENT Service. When I moved to Saint Louis 2 years ago I went online looking for a nail salon. Elegant Design was the first one that came up in my search and I liked what I saw on their website, so I called and they got me right in. I've been a regular customer ever since and couldn't be happier. The salon is nowhere near where I live, but I don't mind driving out there at all - that's how good the service is! Rebecca cuts my hair and always does a fabulous job - I get lots of compliments! Lynda does my nails beautifully and Rae gives the best pedicure I've ever had! Everyone is super friendly and accomodating. When I got married Lynda and Rebecca opened the salon at 6 am to have us all beautified for a 10:30 ceremony without one complaint or yawn. As long as they're in business, I will be a very satisfied Elegant Design customer!!
Very Pleased!. I have to say that I Love this place, Ive been there a couple of times and i have to say that i had a stylist to cut my hair and Ive been looking for a stylist and she did everything i asked her to do, she listen to me and gave me her suggestions and gave me an awesome cut. This is not your typical salon where theres loud music and kids running around its very quite. they played soothing music the whole time and it was a very delightful experience. they took me on a tour and i have to say when i saw the massage room it looked so relaxing and peaceful. So I haven't had a massage yet but i look forward to experiencing the different services this place has to offer!
I have been shopping for a new salon to go to and came across Elegant Design Day Spa through an internet search. I pulled up their website and looked immediately at the prices for a hair cut and color and noticed that they have different levels of stylists. The price of the haircut and color depends on the level of stylist you request. Their prices were lower than many other salons, so I gave them a call. The lady I talked to on the phone was very nice. I advised her that I'm a new customer and noticed that they have difference levels of stylists, from entry level to Master XL, and would like to be set up with an Accomplished Stylist, which is a step above Entry Level.
I pulled up to the salon and immediately should have turned around. The entrance to the salon is on the side of a strip mall and it looks a little questionable. I went in and walked down a flight of stairs and into a basement. I turned the corner and honestly could not believe how out of date this “day spa” is. The receptionist took my name and someone else gave me some paperwork to fill out and took me on a tour. Our first stop was the "changing" room, which had dirty robes hanging from a make-shift closet and dirty slippers on the floor. She took me around the rest of the salon and I couldn't stop thinking that there was no way I would ever get a massage in this place. The 1978 decor really turned me off.
After waiting a little while for my stylist it was time to start on my hair. First, let me say that the color was fabulous. The cut; however, was horrible and it took my stylist 3 HOURS to do my hair! The color takes a while, which I completely understand, but it took my stylist 30 minutes to cut my hair and the way she was cutting it, which I can't even begin to explain, was telling me that she wasn't very experienced with hair cuts. She didn't seem confident in her cutting abilities and after the cut she kept cutting at my left side trying to even it out. I took a quick glance in the mirror and thought it looked okay. I went to the front counter to pay and she told me it was $58, which I couldn't believe knowing I had set my appointment with an Accomplished stylist, but I paid, tipped, and left. When I got home and took a good look in the mirror the first thing I noticed was that my hair was noticeably longer on the left side, than the right side. I also noticed that overall my hair looked strange. I got my flat iron out, thinking that will fix all, and after running my Chi flat iron through my hair 3 times it would not lay straight, which means my layers were not cut right. I was beyond upset. I called a friend, who is a hairstylist, begging him to fix my hair, which he thankfully agreed to. After seeing that I received a bad haircut I knew I had been set up with an "entry-level" stylist and confirmed the same after looking online again and realizing that I had been changed the "entry-level" price. I definitely got what I paid for; however, I never asked for an entry level stylist to do my hair.
The people that work at the salon are very friendly; however, I should have known after walking into the place I wasn't at a high end, or even a normal looking salon. Great Clips looks more modern than this place. First impressions are huge for me and I simply couldn’t believe this place was located in Ellisville. Oh, and a word of warning to anyone wanting a massage at this place, the entire 3 hours I was there I heard nothing but barking dogs. I'm assuming there was a kennel above us. This is not an ideal place to get a relaxing massage. Between the ambiance and the barking dogs I would be stressed out the entire time.
I give Elegant Day Spa a 5 star rating for friendliness; however, I give them a 1 star rating for everything else. I was extremely disappointed and will not be going back.
Great Spa with Fabulous Service!. I have been getting facials from Candy for about a year -- I look forward to them every month! Essentially, this is a comfortable and friendly place! Sometimes I get free samples but I get smiles and well wishes every time! Candy is quite knowledeable about all things skin-related and she always remember me (even though she must see tons of customers!). I live downtown but am willing to drive far west on Manchester just to get there so it's well-worth anyone's time! -- Dianna!
Wonderful facial. I had a gift card for a facial. Having facials in the past, I was ready to test her. Candy was great! Her hands just floated over my skin. Her massage was heavenly. After I was given a bottle of water & samples to take home. She also was very knowledgeable about the skin care line. Price was reasonable.
