How it all began
In the mid-1970s, St. Louis off-road-vehicle enthusiast Bob Chandler discovered how difficult it was to obtain after market parts for heavy-duty trucks, and opened his own specialty 4x4 shop. In 1981, Chandler was an early (some say the earliest) enthusiast of driving monster trucks over junked cars, a trend that soon took off across the country. His Ford F250, dubbed BIGFOOT, became a legend in truck-pulling circles. By the mid-1980s, he was using computer-aided design technology to take up on the latest fad: monster truck racing. This year, Team BIGFOOT won its sixth racing series championship in seven years.

The BIGFOOT museum is the home of his original BIGFOOT as well as BIGFOOT 5, described as the "world's tallest, widest and heaviest pickup truck."
