DON'T GO ANYWHERE ELSE. I'm a native St. Louisan who loves to take visitors out for a great St. Louis Italian meal. This is the ONLY place I'll take visiting friends and family. It is, bar none, the BEST Italian food in St. Louis. Mangia!

Amazing Food and Service!!!. My husband and I visited St. Louis in May and we were within walking distance of this restaurant. We loved the look of the place, service was great, food was absolutely amazing! If we ever visit STL again we will definately go back. Price was very reasonable. My husband and I got sodas and one appitizer and two entrees and the bill was less the 40 without tip!!! I recommend this to everyone that I talk to! Enjoy!!!!!!

For That Special Night. Sorry for the delay! Last fall some relatives came in to visit and wanted to go a very nice Italian restuarant on the Hill that we had not been to before, we chose Gharlie Gitto's. It was the best choice we have ever made. The atmosphere is wonderful. The service was the best we have ever had. We had so many people taking care of us It seemed as though we each had our own personal waiter. (Appetizers) The Toasted Ravioli is lighter than the usual heavy Ravioli you get at other restaurants and the marinara sauce could be a meal by it's self. (Salads) Fresh, Clean, House Dressing has Great Flavor. (Entrees) We each tried something different again. I had the Veal Parmigano with a side of the 3 pepper Seafood Fettucciine (If you like Seafood this is the Entree for you) . My wife had the Chicken Parmigano. Excellent! My son had the catch of the day, a wonderful Tuna dish. We tried the others entrees and each was excellent. ( Did I mention the fresh baked bread! MMMMM ) Dessert: The waiter llisted all of the mouth watering desserts that we could choose from. Gelotto, Tiramisu, Cannoli etc. When we could not decide he offered a taste of each of the fresh made Gelottos to help our decision making. My wife got the Peach. MMMGood. I had the choclate, deep and rich. Others got the Tiramisu and said it was the best they have had. With drinks and tip our bill came to about $60 per person. A bit pricey for some, we could have gotten by for less, BUT this was a special occasion. SO if you are planning a very special night for two or a special get together for a large group and are wanting it to be the perfect night then Charlie Gitto's is the place to go.

Best Italian Food and Service In St. Louis. My Wife's and I's Favorite place to eat while in St. Louis. Great atmosphere and even better food. Service has always been fast and friendly even on the weekends. I have been to a few other Italian restaurants while on vacation in St Louis, but Charlie Gitto's is the best.

The best Italian on The Hill. Unbelievable! The service, food, and atmosphere were incredible. DON'T GO TO BARTOLINO'S, YOU WILL BE DISSAPOINTED. In fact, go to Bartolino's and then go the Gitto's and you will remember reading this and realize how right I am. Charlie Gitto's IS the best.

Great for my group gathering. Hosted an event at Charlie Gitto's downtown in January 2006. The service was fabulous, and the upstairs was perfect for our group of 50. The only drawback to the upstairs private rooms (bar in one, and eating in the other) was that the restrooms for the entire restaurant are in the hallway between. Otherwise, our people were very pleased with the food and I was blown away by the level of customer service. I'd gladly do another St. Louis event at Gitto's downtown.

GREAT PLACE. We travel to St Louis yearly for ballgames and always stop into Charlie's for lunch or dinner. This has been a family tradition for years. We have always received great food and service. They will accomodate as little as 2 people up to at least 12! Stop by for a great dinner and a few drinks!

This is the best Italian restaurant I've been to. I can't believe you rated this lower than Pasta House. The food maybe a little expensive but it's worth it for a romantic date. The service is excellent and the food is unbelievably good. If you're willing to drop money for excellent Italian food, this is the place to go.

Great salads. We only had lunch in the downtown location, but it was a pleasent experience.
