Avoid if on a time schedule. We have visited the OSF in the past and usually had a decent time. Not this time. They re-opened with a new menu and apparently an entirely new staff who had no clue how to handle a large group. We arrived at 5:10 pm and had no service until 5:30 when the bus boy filled our waters. At 5:45 our waitress showed up and we informed her that we were in a rush, we were taking our kids to a concert at 7:00 and wanted to leave by 6:30. Our food arrived at 6:20 and they failed to make three our dishes, one being a grilled cheese sandwich. After asking for the remainder of our food and our checks, our waitress did not return until 6:45 and still did not have all of our food or our checks. After finally getting our checks and again indicating that were extremely late and could she process them quickly. After 10 minutes we had to physically track down someone to determine what was taking so long and were told that "you are in line behind other credit cards". Totally unacceptable. I am telling everyone I know about this ordeal and if you are ever going to eat there and need to get to a show or something, I would avoid this location at all cost.
Great ALL AROUND!. I absolutely love this place! It is in a great location, decorated so cool, prices are low and the food was absolutely awesome. I visited during a busy Saturday evening and have absolutely NO complaints! I am returning ASAP!
Highly overrated. A big group of my family ate here after a long day at the zoo. It's one of those places that wants to send the customers out saying "Wow, it was so great, they gave us a whole loaf of bread rather than biscuits or rolls!" Big deal. Any way, the food was extremely subpar. I got the chicken fettucini dish and like another reviewer said, Fazoli's (Italian fast food chain) does it better. The others were also not impressed. However, you can eat here for fairly cheap. Then again, why would you want to? This restaurant is highly overrated. In other words, DONT EAT HERE.
HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED. A group of friends and myself met here for a evening of good Italian food. It had been years since I had been at the restaurant. We were seated quickly and greeted by an excellant server but the food was absolutely horrible. I ordered the Spaghetti and meatballs. The dish had very little sauce. The meatballs not only looked bad but tasted horrible. I would not recommend this restaurant for someone who loves good Italian food.
Big Crowd, Long Wait, No Reason. In short, this place is highly overrated. It sells cheap-grade pasta with unsophisticated sauces to the masses. It's a kids place. It serves "sketty" not spaghetti. It has no business being number 2 in this poll in a city like St. Louis which is rich with Italian restaurants.
Fantastic!.
The perfect place to take visitors. It is reasonably prced, for arund $10, you get an entire meal, salad or soup, entree, Iced tea, and Icecream!
We have gone several times, and the service is always fabulous!
If McDonalds Did Spaghetti. Fazoli's does it much better and a lot cheaper. Any number of places has better ambiance. I've been amazed for years that this place is still in business.....any diner with even a small amount of discernment would only step foot in this place one time. Way too many places in St Louis better than this for any of the reasons we go out to eat.
not worth the wait. if you like long lines and not so tasty food this is the place to go
Been going here for 20 years!!. This place is wonderful for young and old alike. I have been going here since i was a child with my family. I live about 200 miles south of st louis and travel to the "Gateway City" about five times a year, and never do i return home w/o hitting The Old Spagetti Factory!!
good food. old spaghetti factory has the best spaghetti in st. louis by far. it is situated downtown and is minutes from the arch. if you are on vacation here, i would recommend that you stop there before your departure.
