Restaurant should be called ?Phony?s?. Tony?s AAA five-diamond award status is supposed to provide one with a special evening?s celebration of food, service and upscale ambiance. Warning: expect severe disappointment should you choose to visit this dying establishment. The painful service is erratic at best while the food quality was not only lacking in producing a memorable, melt-in-your-mouth experience, but was in fact of a quality one would find at lower quality chain restaurants. Bottom line, if you like barely tolerable food and service, yet money is no object and you want to feel like you are dining in your dead grandmothers kitchen, then Tony?s is the

perfect place. Final word; don?t expect the proprietors to care much about your experience

either, they are completely apathetic.

Love on a plate.. I have frequented this place for many years and I must say that this is my favorite place to go in St. Louis. It's a great place to go for a special occasion or simply a romantic evening out on the town. Everything is delectable and the food is nothing but delicious. The owner greets every table and makes sure that everyone is enjoying the meal. Anything you desire can be created, so don't hesitate to ask. Just relax, and order and let your taste buds take a journey along flavors that can only be described as outstanding.

Very High End Diggs. Wow! The dress code said dressy. What I didn't realize is it meant Sunday best dressy. When we arrived, my husband was given a jacket and we had 3 waiters for the whole night. Richard Gephardt sat 2 tables over from us. The good was good and the service was very high end. It is not casual dining and it is not $$ in cost. Think $$$ or $$$$. We went thrifty and got out for $150. Definitely a special occasioin place.

5 STAR ***** EXPERIENCE. After reading some of these reviews we were hesitant to keep our reservation but are certainly glad we did!

We have eaten in some of the best restaurants in New York, Philadelphia, Florida, Maryland, Atlanta and even many places in Europe and China and absolutely enjoyed our experience at Tony's in every way.

We arrived as a baseball game was getting ready to begin and were prepared to pay as much as twenty dollars for valet parking only to find it was complimentary!

Then upon entering we were directed to the living room/bar area as our table was not quite ready. Though we decided not to order drinks at this time the friendly, smiling bartender brought us some ice water and nuts for our comfort. A lovely start to our evening.

After a small wait we were escorted into the dining room where every part of our meal was a culinary delight. Our waiter, Steve, came up with new sauces that he prepared tableside to enhance our experience and every dish we ordered-salad, pasta, veals, vegetables, etc. was excellent as to presentation and taste. The menu offered a good variety of choices and the little extras they serve complimentary are equally excellent, as is the bread.

Even the wine we ended up ordering was a delightful addition to our dinner.

When we told our son what our bill came to he said that he often pays more that that just for two people to go out for sushi! A far cry from the lovely dining experience that we had!

Nothing was stuffy about our experience and we cannot wait to return.

Exemplary Italian dishes, theatrically prepared, add a dash of drama to this understated room.. In Short
Politicians, power brokers and trysting couples come to Tony's for its discreet air. Popular entrees include the veal chop and prime sirloin. Also a favorite, lobster Albanello is finished tableside, adding a theatrical flourish. Desserts like ricotta cheesecake reveal the restaurant's Italian roots, but classic concoctions such as bananas Foster (also prepared tableside) are true to Tony's penchant for drama and gentility.

Mr. Duke. It was my first visit to Tony's. It was a Saturday night very loud and noisy. The service was great the food only so-so. I have have had better steaks at the chain steak houses. I still believe everyone should go at least once.

Thanks for the memories. My mother and aunt took me to Tony's when I was just a little girl. We took the opprotunity to return for every special occassion-birthdays, graduations, engagements etc. The food was wonderful, we were treated like princess' and nothing has changed except the location. I no longer live in St. Louis but my family does and I always look forward to going there. Thanks for all the great memories, Mr. Bommarito!

I Love Tony's ! !. My husband and I just celebrated our 3rd anniversary at Tony's. This was also our 3rd annual dining extravaganza at this fabulous restaurant. Tony's is an absolute treat. The food and wine was exquisite. The service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was elegant as well as romantic. Tony's was pleasing to all of the senses. Thank you!

I don't need you to feed me.. One goes to Tony's for the service; not the food. They do keep a spotless appearance and service but the chicken I had was soaked in a sauce that covered up any slight taste of the actual chicken. I think the highlight is checking out the celebs who've eaten there (probably for free). Don't waste your time. Impress your girlfriend w/ good food; not just kiss-booty service.
