Editorial Review for Top of the Riverfront – by Melissa Martin
The Scene
With views to spare, this revolving restaurant offers top-flight service, provided by seasoned professionals. Live piano entertains as you take in views of riverboat casinos, cargo barges, Busch Stadium, the architecturally stunning Eagleton federal courthouse, the lofty Metropolitan Square building and, of course, the gleaming Gateway Arch. Come in late for a cocktail and an appetizer, and you can enjoy the glittering city lights without paying a king's ransom.
The Food
With a focus on regional cuisine, the menu also includes Pacific ahi tuna, Pacific Northwest salmon and jumbo shrimp. Menu titles are sometimes misleading, such as the Indian-sounding Chickasa mixed grill, which comes with a twist of sea prawns, and the Biloxi bouillabaisse, which replaces traditional tomatoes, onions and herbs for a medly of broccoli florets and red pepper strips. The menu does miss a few regional specialties, such as morels, brook trout and Mississippi blue catfish.

We showed up without a reservation (4 of us) and the hostess was very accommodating. They fit us into the schedule and we all had steaks of varying types. the portions were plentiful and the steaks were great. Great presentation on the plate, as well. The view was outstanding and within 90 minutes you can see a 360 degree view of the city. Too bad the last diner had a bad experience, but ours was fine.

My husband and I went here for his 30th birthday. It was the worst experience ever! The water glasses were dirty and something was floating in the water. The food was horrific! We ordered two 14oz New York Strip Steaks with potatoes and vegetables. The steak were extremely tough and distasteful and the potatoes were disgusting! My husband and I both vomitted when we got home. We called when we got home to complain about the food. The director mentioned there was nothing he could do. This was the worst experience ever. I definitely would not recommend this restaurant to anyone! Beware!
