Very Bad Experience

A group of 8 of us had dinner at Jake's. Shimp appetizer and ribs were very good and our server was pleasant. Other than that, it was a rather unpleasant dining experience. They had a good wine list, but could not locate any Cabernet Sauvingnon wines. After about a half hour, our server brought us an inexpensive bottle of Merlot. Some of the entrees were brought out and left unattended on a table near us (outdoors) for several minutes before the rest of the entrees were brought out and placed on our table. One of our party found a very long hair in her steak salad, and decided not to eat anything (our server did deduct the salad from our check). After all that, they included a 20% gratuity on the check.

Jake's is clearly a very poorly managed restaurant. One would best advised to stop to have nothing more than a beer in the rustic bar.

Never again - worst service ever

I made reservations for a Bachelorette party roughly three weeks in advance. When we arrived at the resturaunt, our table was not ready. We waited for 45 minutes after our reservation time to be seated. After we were seated, we sat for 30 minutes before a server entered our room to greet us. The bartenders rolled our eyes at us when we tried to order drinks and told us they had to take care of their staff before they could help us.

When we finally placed our order, a few of the meals were not brought out and a few of them were wrong. For one of the meals, we had to ask FOUR TIMES for it to be brought out. One of the grilled chicken salads we ordered had NO grilled chicken on it (and they never brought it to us after we told them). How long does it take to get ketchup at Jakes's? Forty-five minutes. When it came time for the checks, the server said she could 'try' to split them up, but made it sound like we were being unreasonable - so one of the girls in our party willingly paid on her credit card to avoid having to deal with the staff any more.

On top of all of this, we spoke to the owner about our terrible experience, and he took NO responsibility and said he was going to fire our server. How unprofessional! Having worked in the resturaunt business, this is the kind of experience you comp an entire meal for. He gave us a measly $50 off of our $150 bill.

Well, we sure hope his measly discount was worth it - he's got 12 angry girls that will talk about their bad experience at Jake's and NEVER recommend it to anyone again. Save yourself the time, and go somewhere that treats you like they want to earn your money.

NEVER AGAIN

SERVICE STUNK!!!! WAITRESS KNEW NOTHING ABOUT THE MENU...... HOSTESS WAS NOT FRIENDLY..... CALLED AND WAS TOLD FREE PARKING BUT THEY WOULD NOT PAY WHEN WE LEFT.................... COMPLAINED TO MANAGER AND WAS NO HELP!!!!
