Do not recommend !.
I rented with them for one year, and it was terrible!
First off, they didn't always answer to maintenance calls even after we called numerous times. When they would come, they wouldn't always actually fix the problem.
Second, they have two offices and I don't believe either of them communicate with the other. Many times we would call one office and they would tell us to call the other office, then that office would tell us to call the first office we called. It was a mess. One office would tell us one thing, the other would say something different. When we moved out, we gave them the garage door opener, but we never received the refund for it. We called the first office and they said they never received it, but they did because we gave it to them with the keys and they had the keys. So we called the other office, and they told us that we never even paid the deposit for the garage door opener. To sum all of that up, they were terrible to communicate with!
We once got TONS of bugs, and when I called they didn't believe me. I insisted they send someone over immediately. Someone finally came out several hours later with a small bottle of bug killer. I showed the guy all the bugs, and he was just like oh... I am gonna have to go get more supplies to get rid of these bugs. It was ridiculous.
I would not rent with these people unless you will be homeless otherwise. The prices are even rather expensive compared to many other places in the St. Louis area.
Never judge an apartment complex by it's cover.
I lived in a Philip H. Barron apartment for nearly two years. The introduction and appearance was up to par and there were few maintenance issues early on. However, as time passed, small appliance issues started to arise to which they refused to repair. This company also rented units to the sort of people who get drunk, come home ranting and raving at 3am and toss their air conditioning unit out a three story window.
On top of all this, when I wished to leave, I was forced to find a replacement tenant in order to get my deposit back. I found not one, not two, but THREE new tenants and they stole them from me, exploited my labor and then withheld my deposit - and I left that place spotless and clean, not even a toothpaste filled hole in the wall.
I highly dissuade any renter from choosing to work with Philip H. Barron.
User review by lisacarr. This realty company has many properties and was very helpful in my search for the right apartment and ammenities.
