Best wine shop.. Great shop with the best selection of wine in St. Louis. The staff is very helpful in the selection of wine and cheese. They helped plan our whole party. My husband loves the beer selection.

Best wine store in St. Louis. I feel like a kid in a candy store at the Wine and Cheese Place. Paul, Andy and Chris are very helpful and really know their wines. But I like the WCP more so for the beer and cheese selection. I'm a cheese freak and self-admitted beer snob and the WCP has at least 200 selections of both. They also carry the regular everyday brands too. Free parking, No attitudes, and lots of stuff make this place one of my favorites.

Best wine store in the Midwest!!. Love this store! I did all of my christmas shopping. The staff was very helpful in picking out gifts. They did not try to over sell me, I got what I wanted. They also gift wrapped all my bottles for free!

Best Beer selection.... It is insane how many different beers they have at this store. The sign said over 500, I think it might be more. It is the only place in town that I have seen this many beers., seems like there is new beer every week. Based on the name of the store, I would not have guessed they had such a diverse selection of beer.

Everyone is nice and helpful. They do have a large wine selection, but my favorite sections is beer and the single malt scotches. Some of their scotches are $10 cheaper a bottle than other places.

Amazing Selection--the largest in St. Louis. Before, I would shop around for wine, but the amazing selection at The Wine and Cheese Place is all I need now. They just expanded the store in Clayton and the liquor, beer and wine is by far the best in town and the prices are considerably lower than their competition. If you are having a party and need large quantities, they have it all from cheese, meat, and all your liquor needs. They also have the best hardwood Charcoal-Fireking. I also went to my first wine class their. Very fun!!!!

Best Champagne selection. I got the scoop on this place from my dad. It is fantastic, the staff is friendly and the selection is unbeatable. I picked up a dozon bottles of my favorite champagne for my wedding the day before - no calling or anything. My favorite place to shop for wine!

GREAT experience. We just moved into town and found this great store. Amazing selection of wine, beer and cheese. Everyone was so helpful and nice.

We tried other shops in the area--this store has more and is the best!

The Best in St. Louis. I am stunned everytime I see The Wine Merchant win the Best in St. Louis awards and wonder if those who vote for them know anything at all about wine. The Wine and Cheese Place offers far more value, selection and lack of annoying "can I help you" drones.

Far outpaces any other wine store in the area.

(don't know why it is listed under Flowers though)

One-stop cocktail party shopping.. In Store
A nearly overwhelming choice of cheeses awaits, including Stilton, Gloucester, mozzarella, goat cheese in a variety of flavors, plus soft and spreadables like Brie and Camembert and a whole lot of other new things to try. (Sampling is encouraged; just ask.) A nearby case holds crocks of olives, some stuffed, along with chicken and apple sausages, salami, pâté in several combinations, specialty bacon and other fragrant foodstuffs. The wine selection is overwhelming. Rating cards posted by select vintages help, and the staff is even more helpful. Describe your tastes or your menu, and the employees will help you navigate the waters. You can also pick up a port, some vodka, vermouth or gin to stock the cabinet. In an adjoining room are floral arrangements, Reidel glassware, crackers, spices and condiments.

Picks
Mousse pâi;té with truffles is rich and velvety. The cornichons are crisp and briney with a bit of spice. Make your next pizza with some truly great mozzarella and savor the difference.
