Very Disappointed – I should have known when I called to make my appointment that something was a miss at this so called premier salon. The receptionist could barely make my appointment. She was not knowledgable in hair care and when I asked to consult with the stylist I had seen before she said that she couldn't and just said she would put something in the computer. When I got to my appt. my stylists said that I needed more than just the top of my hair highlighted but more like a full highlight. So from the beginning the appt. was scheduled to short. After my color and wash my stylist said that she was done. I just kind of looked at her and asked if she was going to dry my hair that it was cold outside???? She said that the appt. did not say a style so she could not blowdry my hair......I asked if Icould please use her blowdryer....so while my stylist stood there I blowdryed my hair....this was a bad sign....I was very disappointed that she didn't offer to blow dry it herself and apologize that the receptionist didn't even ask if I wanted this service???? When leaving and paying the hefty bill I asked to leave a tip on the cc that I paid with.....well, they don't allow you to tip on cc?????? What????? So I did not have cash or a check???? The receptionist might want to tell the customers that when they make an appt. This is too much work to just get your hair done....
Money well spent! – I had long hair that doesnt have good layers. Grant transformed my hair today! He was very kind and sweet and he definitely knew what he was doing with my hair.
No need to speak too long for good service and good haircut. Not the price I love to pay every 12 weeks but it sure is a darn good pampering session with a warm personality!
Thanks DM and thanks Grant!
$70 trim: Appalling Service – I have been getting my hair cut at this salon for the past two years and have had three different stylists with good results. I have a newborn and don't have a tremendous amount of flexibility to schedule ahead with a particular stylist so i called a day prior to schedule with an available stylist. My appointment was made with Amy.
I don't really know where to begin...
The only pleasant part of the experience was my wash which was done by a very sweet girl. Seconds into the actual "cut" I wanted to walk out. She dug the comb into my scalp almost maliciously. I have long hair past shoulder length and when there was a tangle she would YANK through it. I lost count as to how many times she did it. I thought she would let up when i repeatedly winced in pain but she didn’t. I finally asked her to please ease up casting blame on the brush to which she responded “Well your hair is tangled.” in a very spiteful tone and continued yanking through them.
She cut my hair wet and it was the laziest cut i have ever seen. I kept telling myself she does a dry cut and i’ll just wait until she blow dries. WOW! The most painful blow dry of my life. Like i said i have thick hair which didn’t help. She used a roller brush yanking each piece of hair and my hair kept getting caught at the edge of the brush. I asked her again trying to be lighthearted to ease up and she kept at it responding “Yeah this brush does that.”
She did a couple snips for show at the end and when she went to show me her masterpiece she couldn’t even get her hands through my hair. I looked confused and said “Are you sure you took enough off? It still feels like i have a lot of split ends.” Her response, “You hardly had any to begin with and i took a half inch off.” as she was cleaning up her work station. THEN as if not enough i go to check out and was charged $70....SEVENTY DOLLARS. My eyes got huge. “I’m sorry i only had a trim” “Well Amy is a level-4 stylist so it’s more expensive than your usual stylists.” Apparently i payed the extra $30 to get manhandled.
I called first thing the next morning asking to speak to a manager. The receptionist kept asking if i would express my grievance to her and i said this was an issue i would greatly prefer to discuss with management. I left my name and number. Still no response.
I just pray no other individual has to endure that type of experience and PAY for it!!!
A True Master – Dominic is a Master Cutter, I was new to town (form Oklahoma) and had asked about the best Salons in the area. Dominic Michael Salon kept coming up as a "place to go". I asked for the owner, Dominic. my hair looks Fabulous.....loads of compliments he was charming and skilled! I will be Dominics Client as long as live in STL.
I've had an amazing haircut for three years! – I've been getting my hair cut by Dominic himself for three years and he continues to to stun me. I've lived in two metropolitan cities and seen many stylists who do not know how to cut my curly hair. But Dominic is a master.
If you have curly hair, long or short, I recommend him.
not worth your time or money!! – In this economy, customer service should definately be top priority if you want return clients. After waiting up front for quite some time while Im told to "go get washed" I am then placed in Dominic's chair as he is pacing throughout the salon on his cell phone. It's cold and I continue to wait! Dominic comes over, rushes through my "consultation" and he starts to cut. I think i waited longer than it actually took to cut/style my hair! Everything about this service felt rushed. I felt like i was in an assembly line hair salon! I didnt feel like I was at all important and will definately not return.
Courteous Timely Experienced and Confident – THANK YOU STEVEN D. M. for a great cut!!!
Its been a long time, searching high and low, since I have been able to find someone with the experience and most importantly CONFIDENCE in cutting my hair. I have found my new hair Mecca which i will return to again and again knowing i will get courteous service from the reception and a great stylist who will understand my hair type and how to execute a proper cut and style for my face.
Thank you again to the receptionist who guided me to the right person and to Steven for the care and time in cutting my hair right. Thank you!
Lets be serious. You are not all you may think you are. – Service was just so so and he was running around like a crazyman. Dominic is a medium sized fish in a very small cloudy pond. Get off your erratic a** and learn some respect/ethics for your stylist and clients. When I was there I couldnt get over how unprofessional things seemed to be "running". And that twirling Tyler...my goodness, get somewhere and sit down. This used to be a high profile salon people wanted to go to...what the hell happened. Maybe you should look into some continuing education... I will most certainly not be returning.
Good experience as a whole – I moved to St. Louis 8 months ago from Miami, and was referred to this salon by my realtor. I was initially terrified of possibly getting some bad mid west hair, but the entire staff was really accommodating and I liked the casualness of it. See Ashley and Lucas! They are both precise about their work and they listen!
