WOW!!. This was another place we decided to visit as a result of Man Vs. Food. The building is small and you need to get there before the lunch rush or you will be waiting in line outside. The ere of nostalgia is rampant and gives you a sense of home. The deserts are tempting, but do yourself a favor and order a sandwich WITH your milkshake. I ordered the beef and cheddar sandwich and my wife ordered the turkey, bacon club sandwich. We were both VERY impressed with the amount of toppings on the sandwiches, but my wife

Just Ok... My husband and I ate here a few weeks ago for the first time. They came highly recommended so since we were down town, we thought we would try it. First was the waitress that was barely audible and mumbled so you could not understand anything that she said. Then the food came which was just ok..not bad but not really good. The Malts and Shakes are very good though. We also bought candy which was recommended to us, which again was just ok and not worth what we paid for it. The waitress brought our food and never came back to check on us until she put the check down..the place is very small so its not like she had too many other people to take care of. It seemed to us that since they are a St.Louis Icon and thats what drws people in that customer service is not a priority. We will go back for Malts or shakes but that is it.

Excellent Malts, average food. This is the place you go for malts, shakes and other ice cream. They have average food but I go for the shakes. HERE IS SOME ADVICE - 2 Shakes is enough for 4 People.

Horrible to paying customers! Not wise in today's economy!. An order was called in to a male worker for a pick-up time of 11:45am. The order wasn't ready until 12:15pm. Our union carpenters can only take lunch from 12-12:30pm so they had 10 minutes to eat their lunch. The two fruit salad sundaes and an order of chips were not included. When we called, we spoke to a man again & told him about the order missing a few items. He said he went over the order on the phone so if it?s not on the receipt than it wasn?t placed. We told him we?re sure we placed the order for these items and he asked if we were calling him a liar, and then proceeded to tell us not to order from them again and then hung up on our co-worker. She was very shocked! I checked the receipt and we were not charged for the fruit salad sundaes but we were charged .60 for the chips (open food item-on ticket). I am the person who placed the order and I circle the items as they?re read back to me so that I am sure they?ve been accounted for, as I am held responsible if somebody does not receive their lunch. The items were circled, and when the man read the order back to me, he did not say the single order of chips, so I remember having to confirm that he had chips written down, and then he said yes, though again, we did not receive them. I feel as a small-business owner in today?s rough economy, such rude behavior from an employee should definitely be brought to their attention. I honestly hope it was not an owner who treated his customer in such an unprofessional way. We spent roughly $200.00 per mo. w/them. The customer may or may not always be right, but the customer is always the customer, and to be treated in such a manner is uncalled for. We sent a letter to the three owners letting them know about our horrible experience, but nobody replied. Needless to say, we haven't ordered from them since.
