Editorial Review for Llywelyn's Pub – by Tricia Musel
Bud Town
In St. Louis, not many bartenders know how to pour a proper Guinness, but Llywelyn's does a pretty good job on the head. The beer menu breaks down the thickest of lagers: Scotland, Wales and Ireland (for the pale-ale crowd that translates to something like muddy, muddiest and Mississippi sludge consistencies).
Celtic Comfort
Llywelyn's is a great place for a ho-hum night when the only thing you want is peace in a public place (and maybe some chips). This two-room pub brings in the pub-food crowd (especially to the sidewalk tables) for Welsh potato chips and the steak and cheese sandwich with fried onions. (Expect a severe tummy coma after this meal.) Then again, downing stout might be dinner for some.

We decided to check out this place despite the reviews here. We should have listened. I thought the food was good but the service was awful. The menu had a lot of options for a pub. If you go for the food, you probably won't be disappointed. If you go for the food and the service, you will be disappointed.
Pros: Good food, nice portions
Cons: Bad service

Extremely poor value for the money spent. Twice I have been to the Webster Groves restaurant and the last time (day after Christmas) not only was my silverware dirty, but my husband and I watched a rodent run along the top of the window sill next to our table! NEVER AGAIN. AVOID!
Pros: Not crowded
Cons: Poor quality of cleanliness
