GREAT ATMOSPHERE!!!!!. FREE SALSA CLASSES a plus in itself. I enjoy the place contrary to others, the cover charge was only $5 and I think that's pretty cheap. Sure it's in a basement,but you're in the Central Westend and a lot of the places are that way. Give the place a break. I will always be a patron of this club eventhough I have two left feet.

Viva. Heard about the free dance lessons. Free dance lessons .......... as long as you pay the $8 cover!

Friendly. My friends and I enjoyed this club. Good drinks, and dancing, even if you don't know how to dance. Friendly peoplehowever the cover cost is a little too much. I've never been to a club that cost $10. and for the size of the club wellya get my point. Way Friendlier employess than Club Buca.

Used to be great, but not anymore. I went to Club Viva last year and really didn't like it. They had a very high cover charge ($10) for St Louis and the place was just not worth it.

In the past, Viva seemed to have more energy and they were making $ hand over fist and people were enjoying themselves there. The crowds are nowhere as big as what they used to be even a couple years ago.

If you're in that area by Viva, I recommend going to Cafe Eau for dancing.

Dance to jungle, drum and bass and hip-hop in the Central West End.. In Short
Viva is one of the most integrated, most open, most inspired and, yes, most sweaty clubs in the city. Its subterranean locale, a basement space in the Central West End, is somewhat claustrophobic: low ceilings, no windows, scattered columns throughout. But it seems to draw some of its energy from this compactness. DJs now spin everything from hip-hop to jungle. What's more, people seem to check their attitudes at the door. The bartenders, servers and doormen actually smile.

just okay. I am so excited to have a latin club in stl, but this one is a little pathetic. The free dance lessons are a great bonus! However, it is dingy, crowded and always has an affixiating smell of windex. Also, as a latin friend of mine said, there are too many fakers at the club trying to impress everyone.

Tigra. By far the best club in the STL. I've been clubbing at Viva since their doors opened, and I have yet to get burnt out! The music stays fresh and current, with an occasional oldie but goodie to liven the spirits.

Contrary to previous remarks about there being too many "pros", they're just people who have either taken advantage of the free-yes FREE dancing lessons (mainly Salsa and Merengue), or maybe they just have an excellent lead. But at Viva, you're welcomed on the dance floor whether you have two left feet and dance like Elaine from Seinfeld, or if you can cut a rug like Ginger & Fred.

You may come in your best after-5 attire, or in your after work gear. Are you 21yrs old or 81 yrs old? Asian, Black, Latino, White, or anything else? They're all seen here, and I wouldn't want it any other way.

WOW!. That's all that I can say about Club Viva. For great dancers and also for not so great dancers. My girlfriend and I were visiting from Chicago and we are so glad we chose Viva to be the club we went to! Go there and you are guaranteed to have a good time! Ladies, bring your man because there is a one man to 10 girl ratio! I love Viva!!!
