Tips for Guido's Pizzeria & Tapas

Great food! Homey feel. The menu has plenty for the traditional, but also plenty for the adventurous. Order two tapas for dinner....and the sangria! The place works as a family place, for a special date night, or for a special occasion....not many places can pull that off.

Sangria, Service, Spectacular!. On our first trip to the STL when we were house hunting in O Fallon we stumbled into this gem on our way back through town. Going to the Hill to eat is always a treat and an experience onto itself, but this is by far our fav destination.

Service is excellent, we are not regulars by any means (I wish!) but yet are always treated like old friends. On our last trip there for my hubby's birthday we got hugs from the man himself!

Tapas is phenomenal and affordable. You must try the Sangria, it is so good its dangerous.

Great Food. This place as great food and won't break the bank. We have order the Spanish Safron Rice dish and it takes some time to make but is excellent. Pasta is excellent, hell everything is good. Nice atmosphere and people who work are very friendly.

My Favorite Pizza in STL. The pizza is the best St. Louis Style I have ever had, and I have eaten everywhere. It beats out Imo's by a long shot.

The Only Place for Tapas outside Spain!. We've been coming here since it was a somewhat dark mom and pop place. Now it's been renovated, has tables outside, a much nicer interior, and lots of young wait staff, very nice and eager to please. So it's even better. But it was always the tapas that brought us in, with the whole family - it's a family friendly place when the children are old enough to like real, tasty food - though, of course, they have very good pizza as well. The wines are always nice and not too expensive, so you can have a real tapas evening. If you order two or three tapas per person, all different, you will have a huge feast hovering between gourmand and gourmet! There are NO duds on the tapas menu, but maybe our favorite is stuffed calamari. If you want their wonderful paella, call ahead, because it takes a while to cook. It's very good, but it won't leave any room for tapas that night. We also recommend the gazpacho, especially in the summer time. If you like Spanish food, this is THE place to have a wonderful time without breaking the bank.

good italian for a good price. This resturant is adorable! its intimate and romantic. The food is so good, and inexpensive. The sangria is perfect! The staff was friendly and helpful. Our server was fantastic, his name was David and he rocked! The portions are pretty large. and its so worth the price.

Best Restaurant on The Hill!!!. This is my favorite restaurant on the hill! If i cant make it there they deliver to me! Their tapas are excellent and their pastas are great. For appetizer id suggest their cheese platter par excellente! For a entree i always get the pasta con broccoli though ive tried other things i find i like this the best its always served with fresh hot bread. And if your a drinker youve got to try their home made sangria best ive ever had! Ive never had to wait long for a table and always have great service! And the owners are just wonerful people they treat everyone like family and are always very helpful and friendly! And finding parking is not problem since they sit on a corner there is always somewhere to park. Ive brought many people to this restaurant to eat with me and have never heard a bad thing from any of them in fact most say they will come back again i always say dont forget to call and ill come along!

WE HAVE BEEN TO ALL THE GREAT RESTAURANTS OF ST LOUIS. WE GOT THERE AT 530PM, AND GOT SEATED RIGHT AWAY, BUT IT FILLED UP QUICKLY. MARCO--OUR HEAD WAITER<>GREAT NAME AND GREAT SERVICE. PARKING IS HARD TO GET THOUGH.

What a Joke!. Went there yesterday at 1:00PM, 7/5/2008. 20 people were waiting near or at the bar for tables. The stressed out hostess/bartender/waiter said it would be 15 minute wait. 30 minutes went by and they only seated 4 of the origninal 20 that were there before us. Yet, I could visibly see tables that were ready for patrons (some with 8 seats, cleaned with place settings, etc.), but nobody was being seated. Meanwhile, no less than 15 other people came in to eat and left promptly when they realized nobody was even greeting them at the door.

My 2 kids were starving and my wife said she heard a couple of the employees saying they were way under-staffed and sick of it. After 30 minutes, we gave up and left and went to some traditional fare and ate at the PASTA HOUSE!!! Whatever, this place is a joke and dosen't deserve to have customers because they certainly can't serve them!

Worst Treatment!!. I've been there several times with no problems and was even planning to have them cater a big event for me, but I came with a group this time and it was awful from the beginning. The older couple (I think the owners) treated us horribly from the moment we walked in the door, with NO explanation why. They were unbelievably rude. Remember the scene from Pretty Woman where Julia Roberts went to the first store? Yeah, like that but for no reason. I was so embarrassed since I had suggested the place. I will not recommend this restaurant ever again, nor will they be the caterers for my event!
