Editorial Review for Rigazzi's Restaurant – by Scott and Carlotta Seely

Join the Crowd
Families, college students, businesspeople in loosened ties--they all flock to Rigazzi's for pizza, pasta and beer. They park everywhere on the streets outside. The lot in back can't handle the crowds. Join them and you may have to wait for a table (no reservations), but, hey, have a beer while you're waiting, and get the kids some soda.

Popular for a Reason
Inside, a convivial crowd sits at red-and-white-checked tables in bustling, noisy rooms. The food is traditional Italian-American--spaghetti, meatballs, pizza, sandwiches, chicken--serviceable but not exceptional. You'll find a lot to like at Rigazzi's: You can come with the family, find something for everyone on the huge menu and eat ample portions for a reasonable cost. And if you're lucky, the jukebox will be playing Dean Martin's "That's Amore" as you leave.

Insider Tips

Drink It Down

That fishbowl on the sign outside (and in the hands of many of your fellow diners) holds a whopping 32 ounces of beer.

Get the Best

Get the pizza ("one of the 10 best in the country"). The Hill Special is a tasty mix of sausage, onion, mushroom, and spinach on a crispy crust.

Watch the Time

Don't go between 5pm and 6:30pm on Friday or Saturday night¿you could easily wait more than an hour for a table.

I have try many many restaurats and this one was the worst. knif was dirty, fork was uneven, lots of bread (hard, old) food fried and refried. but not only that they say the best seller is shrimp something, which was tons of butter and garlic...

This cannot be considered good food. The red sauce was bland & tasteless, pasta was mushy.. Salads were limp & too cold to have any flavor, the bread was boring like brown & serve rolls.... Unfortunately they seem to think serving you a large quantity of this unpalatable stuff makes up for the very poor quality, not in my book it dosent . It translates into having " a very poor opinion of your customer. " Who needs that when I am giving them my hard earned cash. Next time I will look for the Olive Garden in St Louis and at least have an edible meal.

Pros: parking , fast seating

Cons: caliber of food was poor

Post-fire, the new dining room is brighter and shinier, but the crowd remains the same.  See the full editorial review.
