The Scene – The 100-year-old building's clean beige stucco walls and sparkling leaded glass door give the fledgling restaurant a fresh, tidy facade. The cozy dining area has a Tuscan look, with dappled gold paint, craggy terra cotta wall sconces and a swirled-glass center fixture that casts a pleasant glow in the room. – – The Food – Pizza, gnocchi and risotto dishes outnumber stock standbys like stuffed or braised veal. Contemporary ingredients and preparations augment most items--the house salad with with toasted pistachios and crisp bits of prosciutto, or…
VEGETARIANS BEWARE!!!

I am ashamed to have trusted this restaurant for so long. After taking my mother to dinner tonight, feel terrible that her birthday was celebrated at a place that charges so much for such a SMALL piece of fish. $20.95 for what was probably 3 ounces! We also seemed to encounter the only wait staff that actually knows what is IN the food. She informed us that the spinach gnocci is made with chicken stock, which is what we have ordered for years. Regardless of our consistent requests for vegetarian options and even in seeking advice from the staff, we were told that the spinach gnocci was vegetarian-friendly. Do not take your vegetarian friends or family, as they have no policies informing their staff of the food ingredients. Not only is this a lack of respect, but it's LOW CLASS!
- Pros: authentic Italian
- Cons: costly, small portions, uninformed staff, NOT vegetarian
Bad Experience!

My boyfriend and I went there for Valentine's day. We expected a short wait, but ended up waiting for 2+ hours for a table (along with everyone else who had a reservation!). By the time we were seated, we were not that hungry.
No apology from server or manager at any point. Poor hostesses were nice, but not prepared for such a mess! Bartender was nice enough, but overwhelmed as well.
Food was just OK, not worth the wait or price. Obviously, this is only one night out of the year, but it wasn't that great, even if we had been seated at a normal time.
Great atmosphere, less than great entrees!

Lovely Restaurant, great ambiance, but the main courses my wife and I had were both less than what we would have expected. The red snapper was overdone to the point it was hard to cut without a knife, and the risotto tasted like it had been overcooked by an hour!
Despite these disappointments, it is still a wonderful venue to visit. Service was prompt and friendly, and appetizers and salads were good. My wife had a Brandy Alexander that was the best I've ever tasted!
Except for the chef (cook??), this would have been a memorable evening
