World famous in St. Louis for stuffed pepers. What a great restaurant. This place has been in business for 40 years due to a lot of very loyal customers and a great neighborhood. It was recently sold to the Delgado family and they are picking up where the Rodriguez's left off. They are adding a lot of latin food instead of just Mexican. Such as Papusas, charbroilded chicken and much more. I have tasted the food and it is great. The Margaritas are the best in St. Louis and have won many awards and acolades. It is very family friendly and not a bar scene. The house specialty is the stuffed peppers or Chiles Rellenos. They are made completely from scratch. The only way to make them fresher would be to have a cow on site to make their own cheese. Food is made to order so it sometimes takes a little longer than places where food is just reheated and served, but, it is worth the wait. (by wait, I'm talking about 10 to 20 minutes instead of 6 to 8 like some places.) But, who cares when you've got fresh chips, great salsa and a pitcher of Margaritas to hold you over, plus some great murals that depict the history of Mexico and Latin America. The murals were done by Murray McKehan, deceased, who spent 6 years painting them. He was an art teacher at Washington University. I found the place very clean. Yes, you can peak into the kitchen and it is very modern and very clean. I have eaten in restaurants all over the country and in other countries and found this to be great. Period.

Great food, Great service.. Hacienda on woodoson rd. has been around for 40 years ever since it moved to its current building. being one of the first authentic mexican restaurants in the st. louis area still today stands with a loyal crew that makes the experience unforgettable, the food is delicious, the service is 5 star specially when you get to know the servers its like family. ever since the Rodriguez sold the business the place has been changing slowly for the better, musicians can be found on most weekends, the food is better, and its much much cleaner. i recomend the hacienda on Woodson rd. yeah the one on manchester has a nice view and stuff but its not the same as going to where it all started and plus the margaritas are just the best in town..

Was very good, not any more.. Some years ago it was the best place for Mexican food. Now, it turned into a place to have a drink. It seems the owners are more interesting on selling Margaritas (I can't blame them $$$) than offer good food. So you know, great place for college kids or young people to have fun on '5 de Mayo', not any more for authentic good Mexican food.

Best Enchiladas In State. Food is reasonably price, menu is flexible and the

most wonderfully flavored enchiladas and rice.

Has been around for a long time...... If you are looking for a burrito with shredded, tender, spicy beef instead of HAMBURGER, then the Hacienda is the place to be. The food has been consistantly well prepared and tasty for years. I know I have been coming to this restaurant for at least 20 years! Good service, great food and an awesome Friday night happy hour.
