Clayton >Amc Esquire 7
We stopped going here years ago. Every once in a while I'll go back to see if things have changed. Starting about 10 years ago, it just went to sh*t. When I pay $8 to get into the movies I want to be able to hear the damn movie, not the "participants" all around me. People throw food, and are constantly on their cell phones. On one occasion, a couple of dudes where running around in front of the screen, just wanting attention I guess. Staff never does anything to discourage this behavior. This isn't a theater any more, it's a friggin' scene.
And to all the Black people that would call me r@cist for saying it's a black thing you are WAAAY off. I understand that there are many cultural differences between different black peoples, but the fact is, yelling at the screen in a movie theater is definitely a black thing. I'll leave this theater to ya'll... have fun.
A little disappointed.
Based on the user reviews for this theater I was expecting fisticuffs and maybe a few other ruffians to join in the fray but to no avail. If anyone wants a good theater fist fight i'll be at next weeks showing of The Secret Life of Bees. If you can't find me their i'll be in the parking lot smoking Pall Malls on the hood of my El Camino. It's red and has aggression written on the front(Backwards like the ambulance writing).
(Two K's for the king of kings two d's for a double dose of this pimpin)
Best movie theater i've attended.. First of all, i would like to comment to everyone on here commenting on "cell phones" : People will pick up their phone and text, so why even bother with that. Second, for people laughing, of screaming at the screen....you do not have a say in it, let them enjoy. Like for an example, i went to see i think it was my best friend's girl....it was funny, so i giggled through out. Several people there complained. I don't understand those type, if it's comedy = LAUGH. Sheesh! :D haha. Anyways all i'm saying it....this movie theater is one of the best i've been in so far. I go there to enjoy all kinds of people, and it's much better then Ronnies. You can say totally the opposite of it. It's a very chill kind of spot. Nothing should be changed!!! (: Much love , Mina!
the best. I gos here all the time with my boys. Can't beat it! Hot chicks come here, fun to talk it up. Nice crowd, don't care if ya gotta talk.
Multiplex and megaplex theater chain shows mainstream movies in a plush setting..
In 1920, Edward Durwood opened a single-screen picture house in Kansas City, Mo. Over the next 40 years, his company went on to pioneer the use of four- and six-screen theaters. In 1969, the company incorporated as American Multi-Cinema Inc. in honor of its signature multiplexes. Now, the company is known for theaters with 14 or more screens, as well as innovations such as armrests with built-in cup holders, stadium seating with LoveSeats, ATM-style ticketing and online ticket purchasing.
ehhhh. I'm going to the Esquire tonight probably. I understand what people are saying about the crowd and all but honestly sometimes the crowd really makes the whole movie experience more enjoyable for me. Sometimes it's funny to people watch and listen in on some crazy conversations. And I LOVE when someone shouts something FUNNY at the screen. Some of the best one liners come out of the mouths of the Esquire audience! They could make a movie about the crowd that goes to see movies at the Esquire! Now, if I'm going to see a kid movie or having a famliy night then I go to a theater like Ronnies. But the Esquire is great for what it is and can be pretty fun.
Its not the best, far from it. Its just closer when you get off work and are around the area..
You know... I heard about some complaining and such underneath here. Well, those "hoodlums" and "hoodrats" that you guys reffer to, are majority of the black youth in the area. Im a young black man myself, yet, I know my maturity level and seeing something like that said, about it being "race-ist"? YEAH! If its so race-ist, then please, point out the caucasian people, the latino's, the arabians, the bosnians, or even the canadians or whatever that are loud and obnoxious, then prove me wrong when I say something about "MY" own race! I see and hear a lot from the rude and disturbing black men and women in the esquire, although it bothers me, I would much rather ignore, and watch what I paid for. Went to see "Dont Mess With The Zohan" last night, and guess what? My people were pretty much solid threw the duration of the movie, but in the beginning, loud laughing and cursing throughout. I brought my 7 year old son with me to see the movie, and he couldnt even interpret the words coming out of their mouths. I told my kid not to worry too much about it, we would be out of there as soon as possible. The guys and girls were quiet after 5 minutes, so we were happy.
Point is though, there needs to be attendants in every theatre room, listening to the stuff, and kick them out due to stupid stuff like that. I will still continue going to Esquire because when I get off work, I live 5 minutes away and I can catch it quicker than Ronnies. So yes, thats all that needs a change.
Worst Movie Experience EVER.
The Esquire theater is the reason for HOME THEATER!! This was the absolute worst movie experience
EVER. YES of course all of the typical BS you would expect. Cell phones ringing off the hook,TALKING TALKING AND YES MORE TALKING. Who raised these people? Theaters in Bagdad get more respect.
The most unbelieveable thing was NOT ALL OF THEM WERE KIDS. Actually most were not.
they were 10% of the audiance in this movie. creating 100% of the noise and distractions!!
This is by far the most mismanaged theater to allow this to continue and a manager to be found nowhere.
(im sure hes hiding under a desk)
I love it. Who would say the theater is not a good one, ummmmmmm older people, not cool people and just down right boring people because I love the esquire because its always a nice crowd, nice place to meet up at and its close. If someone is in the movie theater doing something you dont like tell them that but that should not stop u from having a good time. And when your in line buying tickets u see a bunch of teens and children so why not leave then instead of paying your money to complain.
Poor Theater Etiquette. I stopped going to the Esquire Theater many years ago due to teenagers who obviously have not been raised with how to behave or respect the rights of others while enjoying a public place/event. I had actually considered giving ithe Esquire another try until I read the other reviews. Please stop playing the race trump card and teach your children they are not at home, and public places have different rules. Teach them respect. The establishment is wrong for not kicking them out.
