Best Chinese Restaurant in the St. Louis Area. I have been going to Yen Ching for over 10 years and I do not have one bad thing to say about the restaurant other than I wish it would get more recognition.

User review by zzvinai. the service is bad, the waiter has bad attitude, the foods are OK but you can avoid the frustration by going elsewhere

Bad Management, bad customer service!. Only management that I saw at any restaurant coming to table and arguing about how much customer should pay as tip. Used to be a restaurant we go, and tip between 10-20% depending on the day. Don't go to this restaurant if you want to have a nice lunch or dinner out. There are plenty better places around.

This is one of the best. Easy to find location with plenty of parking. Staff is always very nice and attentive to it's customers. Not sure what you want off their extensive menu, ask the servers they are more than willing to help. GREAT food that never dissapoints.

Courteous service, an extensive range of dishes, and 26 years in business have made this one of the most popular restaurants in the area.. The Scene
The main dining room is dim and windowless, but has a comfortable, intimate feel. Servers are extraordinarily attentive. In fact, they often wait discreetly in view of your table and then snap into action when you signal for them.

The Food
The restaurant offers an array of familiar Chinese menu items, but also features dishes with uncommon flavors, such as tea-smoked duck and pork with preserved white cucumbers. Most entrees range from $6 to $11. Chinese delicacies, such as Peking duck and braised sea cucumber top that, but are worth it. Tangy sweet-and-sour shrimp and peppery ginger beef are good choices in the moderate price range.

Finally...good chinese in St. Louis. I am a transient from Atlanta, GA and have not been able to find good chinese food in St. Louis until I ventured upon Yen Ching. The imperial chicken is superb, as is the sizzling rice soup, which I have not been able to find at other chinese restaurants around town.
