The Single Malt Scotch selection is the best I've found in Missouri!. I also tried their freshly roasted coffee. They recommended the Starrs Blend and Viennese beans that day because they just roasted them minutes before. Both were very good but I liked the Viennese best. The store smells so good! I could loose myself just wandering around looking at the food, teas, wines (too too many!) but the liquor selection in unbelievable and I think it caters to the up scale customers...which I'm not, but I feel up scale shopping there.

A Great Selection of Beers as well as wines. Starrs has a great selection of Specialty beers as well as a huge inventory of wines. I'd say the best selection in the area. There are larger stores in St Louis, but without driving another 30 minutes this is the place to be. I have had many different beers from Starrs and they were all great. Bud is the one to ask about the wines and Ben is the one to ask about the beers.

On the food side I've only tried the "Starrs Dip", but it was EXCELLENT

Great customer relations. I bought a several bottles of wine a few years ago, and one was REALLY bad (spoiled), so I took it back to warn them that others in the bin might be bad also. Bud Starr wandered over while I was discussing it with an employee, tasted the wine, screwed up his face, said "He didn't get this HERE did he?!" When the reply was "Yes", he said "GIVE HIM HIS MONEY BACK!!!" I was not even asking for the money, I just wanted to inform them of the problem. He refunded the money and pulled all the remaining bottles from the shelf. This service is what keeps me coming back to Starr's.

Heavenly wine selection, specialty foods and gourmet takeout.. Wine and Spirits
With hundreds of labels on its shelves, Starr's boasts an impressive selection of wine, ranging from the inexpensive, $10-a-bottle, everyday-occasion to the $350-a-bottle celebration vintage. If you find the process of choosing wine akin to taking a standardized test, ask for Jeff, who will render your experience both entertaining and educational without the usual pomp and circumstance. Not an oenophile? You can also choose from more than 350 types of beer and a number of standard and premium liquors.

Gastronomic Delights
Starr's carries an assortment of specialty food items, some of which are singular to the store, that invite much lingering and label-reading. You'll also find coffee, which is roasted in the store; bread and cookies baked in-house; imported cheeses; fresh seafood and prepared dip; spreads; salads; spring rolls; and pizzas. The arugula pesto and Starr's dip are customer favorites. A dining area is available both for private parties and for enjoying your purchases if you can't wait till you get home.
