#1 choice for Mexican baked goods in STL!. El Chico Bakery has been around for 12 years! I love to go there on the weekends and buy tamales. They have a wonderful variety of baked goods at a very reasonable price! Some of my favorites are orejas, teleras, empanadas, pastel de 3 leches and their bread pudding. You can't go wrong with whatever you end up getting, I am certain that you will not be dissappointed. They also have Mexican sodas. Not many people may know but they also make cakes for all occasions & wedding cakes. The staff is so warm and welcoming. :) El Chico Bakery is my #1 choice for Mexican baked goods!

Very Satisfied Customer. This bakery is extremely friendly. Their tres leche cake is wonderful! I am going back again. Keep up the great work!

Nasty CAkes. This place has pretty good pan (hispanic sweet bread) but their cakes are terrible. I ordered a birthday cake for 50 people there and the cake was stale and just gross. I had also had my wedding cake order placed there and when I went to cancel it due to the poor product I recieved from them they didn't want to refund me my $200.00 deposit. Not good business.

El Chico is a true-blue neighborhood bakery; the bilingual mother-daughter team behind the counter greet many customers by name, often slipping into the back and returning with bags chock-full of sumptuous surprises. The teeny takeout shop offers traditional Mexican specialties like conchas--sweet bread baked with colorful icing--and fruit-filled empanadas, as well as more typical cookies and pastries. But it's the rock-bottom prices that really impress: $5 will buy enough goodies for a small army.
