Rude? I beg to differ..
I can't figure out these last three reviews, with complaints about the rude owners. I've been going to Nachomama's on a semi-regular basis since they opened in 1994, and have NEVER encountered rudeness from the owners or the staff.
And by the way - the food is excellent. Yes, it may be a bit pricier than Q'doba or other chains, but well worth a couple extra bucks for great Tex-Mex food and the best guacamole in town.
Rude Owner!!!. This was my first experience at Nachomama's. I took my daughter and granddaughter there for lunch. We were in line behind two businessmen and father and his young daughter came in and got in line behind us. The owner was friendly and talked to the obvious ones who come in regularly. We were IGNORED. Then she took the father and daughter from behind us. After she took their order and chatted for a bit, she left the register and refused to take our order. She said I had butted in line in front of the father and his daughter. I WILL NEVER go in that place again. I did not order but did pay for my family. I went to fill our sodas, and she came over and chatted with another businessman with another owner or manager...not sure which. They could plainly see I was in line for the fountain drinks but kept chatting away and not asking the man to step aside, etc. RUDE RUDE RUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!
RUDE OWNERS!!!!!. Please dont waste your money here because the owners only care about money and NOT good food or customer service. I know people who know the owners and the good review you read are from the owners themselves and their family members!!! Please only believe the bad reviews.. all the others have been posted by relatives of the owners!! The owners are arrogant and mean to customers and employees!!
Owner very rude!.
Made the mistake of lingering with old friends after lunch, when female owner must have decided we had been there long enough, and she literally asked us to get up and leave! Mind you, there were open tables the whole time we were there, so we weren't preventing them from earning any other business, and we weren't being unruly or loud, nor were we drinking anything stronger than soda. It was a matter of :making space for someone else," even though there were several open tables. We are all married guys with kids, so met for lunch to catch up a bit, but it seems the female owner didn't like us straying there once our large meal was finished.
The food was good, albeit a bit pricey, but we will never return there again, nor will our wives or kids. I am shocked that someone would treat customers this way.
5 STARS FOR SURE!!!!. Okay, where to even begin? There isn't enough space in this box to say all of the good things I have to say about Nachomama's. From the amazing chips, queso, guacamole, to the incredible nachos, enchiladas, salads, fajitas--you name it! Everything at this place is made with amazing flavor and impeccable taste. Not only is the food great, but the margaritas are unlike anywhere else too. (They have strawberry ones too)!!! On top of the food, the atmosphere is so much fun. Great place to go a little bit dressed up OR super casual. Best of both worlds!! The atmosphere and pleasant workers make this experience very enjoyable. My husband and I eat here every Friday night on our date night and have gotten to know the owners over the last few months. It's so fun to go into Nachomama's and have the owner know your name and genuinely appreciate your business. They could not be any nicer or more welcoming!! Literally, I cannot say enough great things about this place!!
Muy Delicioso. Fantastic, mouth-watering, delectable Mexican food right the heart of Rock Hill. Nachomama's offers a variety of delicious options. Personally, I start with the queso, and then move onto their AMAZING white meat rotisserie chicken (and sometimes the nachos if I'm still a little hungry...). You can taste the premium quality each bite you take. The times when I chose to venture inside, rather than the convenient drive-thru, I am warmly greeted and welcomed by the friendly staff. You can tell they are pleased to work there & not fed up like staffers at other restaurants. I truly feel I am a valued customer and will stick with Nachomama's to fulfill ALL of my Mexican food cravings! All in all, great place, fun atmosphere, and DELICIOUS food!
Nachomama's is the BEST Tex-Mex in town.
I went to Nachomama's the other night and had the best experience eating there. The parking lot was packed, but who wants to eat somewhere when the parking lot is empty. You know the place can't be good!
I walked into a mom and pops restaurant with a bucket of beer next to me while I ordered at the counter. Nothing better than that! The customer service was beyond extraordinary. I ordered the shrimp tacos and they were the best I've ever eaten. The flavor in the tacos were so fresh along side their rice and beans. I grew up eating mexican food in Texas and nothing compares to the freshness at Nachomama's. The food comes out quick, but you can enjoy an awesome margarita with queso dip while you wait.
My wife had the fish burrito and I tried some hers and it was delicious. The tortilla was so warm and fresh and went great with some of their fire salsa on top.
Don't Listen to the Morons. Don't listen to the MORONS posting anything negative about this fantastic restaurant. I've eaten here hundreds of times since they've opened, and it's BY FAR the best Mexican or Tex-Mex restaurant in St. Louis. BY FAR! If I had to choose between this restaurant and Chicago's Frontera Grill, I would choose Nacho Mammas hands down. Its true, the restaurant is too popular for its own good and they don't always have the ability to tend to cleaning up the dining room as fast as they should, and once in awhile they've made a mistake on my order, but I don't care. The FOOD is incredibly good and remarkably consistent. The haters who have posted negative reviews deserve to be kicked in their fat taco-bell shaped asses. They have NO idea what they're talking about! Five stars all the way on the TASTE alone, and isn't that what REALLY matters? Taco Bell? Do they even use MEAT in their tacos? LOL!
Unique Tex-Mex. While I do agree that the prices are a bit high, the food is really good. I really liked the old shrimp tacos when the shrimp were fried. But we greatly enjoy the grilled chicken nachos! The guac is good but really expensive (at least to me it is). But all in all, good and unique food.
Poor service, clean your own table, long wait time, the list goes on and on....
I wouldn't even give this place 1 star, but I had to give at least 1. We went once on a Friday night, big mistake. Order was way off, the place was too crowded, the food was either under or over cooked, and the place was filthy. The second time we went on a Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon. Much better. Food was decent, at least the order was right. The restaurant was still disgustingly dirty. We do not like eating out for lunch, and instead like to go out for dinner. We tried a Saturday night and just went through the drive-thru instead since it was busy. The people who took my order were nice each time I came in. The sides, such as sour cream, were way too expensive. Each time we went back we were tempted to go and buy our own pound of sour cream at Dierberg's for much less than 50 cents a tablespoon.
We would not recommend this place because 1. It's disgustingly dirty. 2. The tall blonde who works the drive thru most of the time (someone told us she's the owner) is very rude and doesn't give out even a napkin unless you check your order and demand one (God forbid if you want two). 3. This is not fast food. It takes a long time to get your order even when it is slow. 4. The prices are too high. 5. The quality of the food is poor (Taco Bell can do a better job). 6. You have to clean your own table. 7. The place is packed full of too any tables and twice as many chairs. People have to scoot-in just for you to get to a table. 8. Owner/drive-thru lady is a true witch, to both customers and employees (we witnessed her screaming at one of the workers there, in front of everyone!). Male owner is very polite & customer-friendly (so we are told).
