HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND SMALL PORTIONS. I paid for a combo plate $7.55 plus tax, I got home and had a mere six small pieces ..it looked like a piece of a snout was broken into 3 smaller pieces , lol , I called and was told the combo was half rib tips and half snouts . C and K used to be pretty good but this place has become a joke ... I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER THING FROM THIS RIPOFF JOINT !!! IF I COULD RATE IT ANY LOWER I WOULD !! THE GOOD REVIEWS MUST COME FROM PEOPLE THAT WORK THERE OR FAMILY MEMBERS . WHAT A JOKE !!

The WORST customer service Ever !!!. I went there and brought a combo sandwich. I was VERY unhappy with my food. The peices were cut toooo big and I didn't have many peices at all. I called them and told them about it and they said bring it back. So I did, only to have the owners son tell me that "There Is Nothing Wrong With It". I told him yes it is and that I'm not happy with it. He says they did nothing wrong and did absolutly nothing to write this wrong. He offered no alternatives or solutions...NOTHING. He said he is not gonna give me anything else in it's place or my money back because nothing is wrong with it , and said why should he suffer the loss......But why should I?? I said what happened to pleasing your customer (retention)...Nothing...He argued with me so much that i called the police to resolve this. To no avail, he said call them, they can't make me give you anything.....Needless to say they couldn't...so I just through $7 away for nothing....I'm sooo dissapointed in this black owned buisness and I wouldn't reccommend it to anyone. The way he handled this situation was PETTY and UNPROFESSIONAL!...And people always say patronise black businesses.....Not if they treat you this way.....from now on I'll take my business to "White Establishments" at least they practice policy that "The Customer Is Always Right" even if they really aren't. But they see the bigger picture....It's not worth them loosing business behind a few dollars, the customer is happy when they leave, and they don't have to worry about the customer spreading negative feedback about their business. I'm suprised that they have been in business this long if this is how they treat their customers...AND EVEN THE POLICE AGREED. So If you want good CUSTOMER SERVICE along with you meal....Don't Go Here!!!

Tender meat, Good Service, Quality Food, Nice Family. C&K has good business fast service. They have a sign up that says, Will gladly take your order after your phone conversation. Have your money ready when you get to the window if it's crowded. And they can get crowded but a third person shows up from the back and quickly unfolds the crowds. While you wait, take a look at the posters of their accomplishments and awards in the BBQ business. It's a family business that has built a tradition in St. Louis. I recommend anyone to go there. The sweet potato pies are to die for!!!!!!

BBQ to the MAX!!!. The rib tips at C K are the BEST I have found anywhere. The value for the money is excellent. The snoots are exquisite. The sauce here is different than any sauce I have ever tasted. Kansas City and Memphis, you have nothing on St. Louis when it comes to BBQ. You gotta try this, it's great!

Can this really be called Barbecue?. I can honestly say that other than the fact that their so called BBQ swims in Barbecue sauce, there really is nothing about this place that is BBQ. I don't know if they smoke their meat or not, but it tasted and the texture sure looked and tasted as if they had simply simmered the meat in BBQ sauce. This is not good barbecue.

No-frills, no-nonsense barbecue in North County.. The Scene
This place is takeout only, but since barbecue can be messy, it's best to eat your ribs in the privacy of your own home with those who'll forgive a little sauce smeared on your face. Don't let the appearance of the waiting area deter you from placing your order.

The Food
On the counter, a sign reads, "The secret's in the sauce," a claim that goes back to 1963, when C&K first opened. Whatever's in the sauce is good--it's spicy, not overly sweet. Chicken, beef and ribs make up the main categories of the menu, and you can order smaller portions than whole chickens and whole rib sides. Your order comes as a sandwich topped with mashed potato salad between two slices of white bread (order the salad on the side). By the time you get home, the sauce has transformed the bread into mush, which you can scrape aside to get to the meat--juicy and tender. For the more adventurous, tripe, pig snouts and ears are also offered. A number of cakes and pies, including sweet potato, round out the menu.
