Could NOT be more disappointed. I have been to this custard stand several times over the summer. Custard is just OK but it is convenient and has a great "Kirkwood" atmosphere.

For the second time this year, the kids working at the station closed before the posted official closing time. Tonight at 9:22 I was walking up to the window with several others when they pulled the shades down right in front of us and wouldn't respond when we tapped on the glass. Needless to say, we won't be back after this episode but I thought the owners would like to know why. We went down the road to Coldstone where they happily took our money.

Too bad because like most locals, we try and always "shop Kirkwood" but won't be spending any more money here.

Great Custard and Great Location. Our family LOVES this place and we start lining up the first day it opens each season. It is the perfect location since it is right near the train station and a small park (perfect for young kids) near the police station that you can walk to with your ice cream cones in hand. Since Kirkwood gets a train going through almost hourly you are almost guaranteed to see a train each time you visit. If it is a nice Summer evening the fire station across the street has their garage door open and the firemen sit out front and let kids come by and shake their hands and see their trucks. It is perfect and affordable and truly brings out the reason we love living in Kirkwood.

Great Ice Cream!!!. The Custard Station is one of the best ice cream places in St. Louis. The Ice Cream is incredible and the service is very good with the people being incredibly nice. If that wasn't good enough, the atmoshere is great, right in the middle of downtown Kirkwood with the train station in viewing distance. There are train tracks nearby, with a protective fence so no need to worry about children running out onto the tracks. It is great to sit on the benches and watch the trains go by, especially for children.
