Rib Tippin at Richards.
I have tasted much BBQ, some good and some not as good. Spending time abroad and time in the south, I tasted Que from just about everywhere and consider myself a Que Dogg that can grill/BBQ with some of the best of them. My wife often asks why I buy when I can burn so well. All I can say is it must be in my genes cause everytime my truck gets close to a BBQ joint it automatically starts to slow down so I can checkout place. Looking for the smoker you know!
I visited Richards Ribs close to quitting time one night (6:40 PM) and wasn't too impressed with the order I got but, I chocked it up to being late. I ordered a 1/2 slab ribs with fries and coleslaw. The ribs were dry but had a good sweet and tangy finger lickin sauce, the fries were fresh and well seasoned with a spicy kickin but, I have enjoyed better coleslaw though even it was not bad. Though it was late my motto is; Don't serve the QUE if you wouldn't eat it too!
I decided to give this family owned eatery another try and arrived earlier this time. Though the ribs were calling my name the Rib Tip sandwich is what I decided on. They gave me about a pound of well seasoned, tender, smokey, sweet and tangy liquid gold covered morsels with a single slice of white bread to sop up some of that run down your chin face candy.
I believe we have a keeper this time. I have to come to the conclusion that the ribs will be just as good cause you can't have tips without the ribs bones.
I do request the owners to pull back on the smokiness of the meat but, overall this was a good trip.
Smile a little sir, you have a winner.
