Traditional dishes and all -you-can-eat salad, soup and bread sticks are the draw at this upscale-casual Italian restaurant..
In Short
Established in 1982, this chain gained a following for its laid-back atmosphere and generous portions. Patrons settle into comfortable booths and tables in dining rooms with plants, artwork and décor reminiscient of the villas in the Tuscan countryside. Starters include scampi, sausage or pepperoni pizza, and several soup choices, as well as a signature seafood dip (crab, shrimp, cheese and marinara). Entrees include classics like lasagna, fettuccine Alfredo and chicken parmigiana. There are also "Garden Fare" options, which promise 30 percent fewer calories.
Great food. This olive garden is huge! The food is good - of course it is the olive garden! the service is good, the atmosphere also good. You can't go wrong here!
Not at all good.. The positive reviews here are obviously from people who never venture more than 5 minutes from their homes. There are some amazing local Italian restaurants in St. Louis, but it's a shame how many people only go to the chains. Guess that's why Olive Garden and Macaroni Grill are always packed. It's a shame for them.
Olive Garden?????. THE OLIVE GARDEN? As a pick for ROMANTIC dinner? Did they pay you a bribe to add them? Fine place to go for a mediocre meal, but for a ROMANTIC DINNER? no way!
bland. you've got to be kidding me . . . how did olive garden get such a high rating in a city that has an outstanding selection of italian food . . .head over to the hill for a much better meal at an equal price
really crummy food. You have got to be kidding. Maybe in Houston the Italian food here would look good. But with the plethora of authentically Italian restaurants in STL, how could anyone rate this mediocre chain as the best STL has to offer. Did they never hear of garlic? The food is bland. Okay, the salad is good, but it certainly should not define the quality of the restaurant. I guess whoever rated this as a top must think Fazoli's is fine dining.
Be Hungry.
They give you tons of food here. You get great buttered breadsticks sprinkled with parmasean.
Then you get a salad or a soup with your meal. The Zupa Toscana is great - a hearty spicy sausage soup.
The steak is seasoned and very tender, the mixed grill is another good dish, and you can't go wrong with the fettucine alfredo.
Great Italian music and lots of nice paintings and pillars everywhere. Some nights there is also free wine sampling.
Not in a city that is known for The Hill. There are Olive Gardens all over the U.S. and their food is alright. I've eaten there on many occasions but their food is nothing comapared to most of the restaurants located on the historic Hill where Italian restaurants cannot be beaten.
don't bother. If you are going to go to a chain restaurant for Italian food, Rich and Charlie's or Pasta House would be much better choices for a more authentic Italian meal.
YOU MUST BE JOKING.
unbelievable... a city like st. louis with a rich italian heritage and The Hill would vote for the Olive Garden! That's like voting McDonald's best hamburger. This is appalling.
Maybe people who vote for the Olive Garden as best Italian should venture out of your new suburban cookie cutter neighborhoods and come to the city. Jeez! Makes me sick that you call yourselves St. Louisans!!!
