A must see...... I see Grants Farm hasn't had a review since '08. Here is just an update. $12 for parking so pack your car with as many people as you can. Unless you want to take a special tour you can take the normal one at no additional cost and you can take it again and again if you want until closing. I hope it becomes part of the National Park Service because I would hate to see this 281 acre site ever get developed. Outside of going to the Arch this is a must see on your visit to St. Louis. Read the other reviews and you will get a feel for the ambiance. I try and go at least once a year.

It's Redundant, but True--"Something for Everyone". A true variety of sights and activities that left our family totally enthused and pleased with our experiences there! Sure, the food is over priced (we brought our own) and the layout turns into one long Anheuser-Busch advertisement by the end (the stable was cool until you see that it is one long homage to the Busch family's fixation on show horses), but we were very satisfied with what we found. And, of course, the Clydesdales are absolutely gorgeous animals, and tolerated the attention very well. One item of note--the baby goats are adorable, but with the bottle feedings they become very aggressive...one actually bruised my daughter's shin by ramming her, and another climbed up onto a little girl's back and took a sizeable bite of her hair...

WARNING--a rumor was going around that the Busch family is slowly shutting the place down, which would be a serious crime. Enjoy it while you can!

A zoo meets a historical park on the Busch family's 281-acre estate.. The Scene
On the Busch family's ancestral estate, a 281-acre wildlife preserve, exotic animals, enormous Clydesdales and talking parrots are commonplace. A tram ride takes you through park grounds where deer, zebras and other hoofed creatures stroll freely. Through a thick forest, Ulysses S. Grant's cabin, built in 1856, holds history buff's attention with displays documenting the past. Children can feed llamas and goats and are free to pet smaller animals.

The Experience
Budget at least three hours to stroll past exotic species, watch elephant and bird shows, peruse the carriage collection and Grant's cabin, take a tram ride through Deer Park and visit the stables of the massive Clydesdales. After all that, you'll surely be ready for a leisurely lunch and a beer in the Bauernhof courtyard, where guests 21 years and over can sample the brews of Anheuser-Busch on the house.

Well Worth the Visit. Grant's Farm was awesome! I was skeptical about it being another "zoo" to visit, but it was so much more. I suggest going early in the day to avoid crowds and heat. We're going back in a month because we loved it so much!

Dont go to Grants Farm. Overcrowded therefore unenjoyable, no way to avoid crowds. Busloads of day care and field trips are not limited. What used to be a top attraction is now free advertising for Anheuser Busch with no concern for their visitors quality unless you can figure out how to book a VIP tour in one of the private jeeps.

A great place to go!. Where else can you see such exotic animals in their natural habitat roaming free? Where else can you do all of this for free?

Kangaroos, Flamingos and Camels!. Sure, there's the zoo, but why go there when you an get up close and personal with the animals at Grant's Farm? At Grant's Farm you can ride the tram and see the animals from different lands and then pet the animals and see the horses. A great place to spend the day and bring the family!

BEST FAMILY OUTING $ PRICE. The only thing I didn`t like was line cutters and some attractions were unexpanably empty and or animals not where stated.

Visit often if you get the chance.. This is the best place to take out of town guests, or even just to visit, yourself. We go here a lot. It's free, the views are gorgeous, the tram ride through the animal park is so cool! I've never been so close to wild animals in a natural setting. I think it is better than the STL zoo. Plus, you get free beer. What more could you want?
