I'll have a non fat double latte with a shot of old and pretentious.. I stopped going to this place. Nothing but pretentious old people, arrrgggh the worst. Plus the art is bad.

Outstanding. Northwest Coffee has moved up the street from the location that is reviewed. They are now located on a corner next to the BMW dealership in Clayton. About two years ago they started roasting their own coffee with great success. The coffee is better then ever and the espresso drinks are detailed with latte art and by far the best in St. Louis and as good as you can get any where in the country. A true coffee house. Definiatly in the top 1% in the country.

A fine cup of coffee can be found lurking in a Ladue strip mall.. The Scene
Widely spaced tables fill out the front half of this long, bright rectangular space. You don't have to worry about anyone accidentally overhearing your conversation. The counter's in back, along with a selection of daily papers, which includes the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times. Although many customers just dart in and out between trips to the grocery store or copy shop--Northwest Coffee is in a strip mall--a fair number sit and relax with one of the aforementioned papers or a book.

The Food
You'll find beans from some of the country's finest roasters, including Intelligentsia in Chicago, which translate into perfect cups of coffee. The list of beverages is exhaustive but not overwhelming. Descriptions under each entry help, as do the really nice employees. Not in the mood for coffee? Turn around a grab a bottled tea or juice from one of the cases behind you. Or order one of the hot teas, ciders or other caffeine-free offerings from the menu. And don't look past the pastries from local bakers like Companion and Something Elegant, which make a nice breakfast or snack.
