Won't Return. Have been here a few times. Won't go back. Used a "buy one get one free up to $6" coupon from the Entertainment Book and gave the server the coupon when we ordered. After we finished our dinner and it was time for the bill, we were told we couldn't use the coupon. I bought an entree for $10, my husband bought tacos for $6 (plus alcoholic beverages). They wouldn't give us the $6 tacos free because, get this, his wasn't an entree and if he had bought an entree, he would have spent more than $6. Huh? I was rudely told that any other restaurant would be the same way. The woman I spoke with was so rude about it, which is the main reason I won't go back. If their customers mattered, it would have been handled much differently.

We Have Not Returned. We were regular customers at this location for years. The food is good. The atmosphere is authentic. The prices are good. The nachos and fajitas are great. We have not been back in almost a year because of a waiter that was so rude to us, 2 times in a row. We have always tipped 20%, even at lunch and even if the service was not up to par. On these two occassions, the waiter had a very aloof attitude and would not give us extra salsa for our chips or meal without trying to charge us 1.50 extra. Also - my husbands nachos were made very poorly - I guess in an attempt to slight him for questioning the charge. This was very unprofessional and made us uncomfortable as to what they would do to our food. This had never happened in the many years we dined there. So - I was dissappointed to find that when we complained to the "manager" who probably was not really a manager at all - the entire staff turned on us. They were speaking Spanish around us and making rude remarks. I guess they are not aware that Americans like me are fluent in Spanish. Oops!

Needless to say - they will NEVER get our business again.

Great - especially during slow hours!. This is mxican food at its best in St. Louis. The food is always hot, the servers are always friendly. The prices are great. We have never had a bad experience there. We usually go during slow hours and on Friday nights it can be hard to find parking, but it is well worth it!

Good Mexican Food and Deal. Considering there are El Magueys just about everywhere in St. Louis, if you are in the mood for Mexican and a good deal there is probably one close by. The chips and salsa are awesome and as much as you want. Just don't fill up on the chips or you will miss out on the main course. Everything tastes good and the presentation is always appetizing. The staff is helpful and do speak English. And if you are up for it try a couple of Margaritas with your meal!

VICI. The food was good, but not great, and not the best I ever had. The cheese quesadilla had the most horrible cheese, it was like white American or Velveeta! I was hoping for Monterey, or another Mexican favorite. It was not TOO expensive, but for the quality, the prices should come down! Service was mediocre, the waitress had to be summoned too much. Skip the sopapillas and the Cheese quesadillas. And also the taquitos were a bit overcooked. The salsa and chips are grreat!

Don't tell EVERYBODY!. Soulmate and I have eaten there since we first arrived over two years ago. I was raised in San Antonio and have eaten fajitas from all over. We drive from O'Fallon IL just to eat there. They have, without a doubt, THE BEST FAJITAS we've ever tasted due to adding churizo sausage bits to the mix! Usually only order Especial for one and share due to the large portion they serve, however if your really hungry and want to take some home get the Especial for two.

Have also ordered other items on their menu and have been very pleased with everything except the Margaritas. They don't seem to use enough tequila.

Other than that OK, but remember DON'T TELL EVERYBODY (or you'll be waiting even longer for a table)!

Hey, Chips and Salsa on me!. Good food. Ask for Ramon on HWY K. I love the lunch specials!!! #1 Speedy Gonzalez is good! Food is delivered in no time at all. Saul was my favorite server until he left. Otherwise, a great franchise to dine in.
