Better than it's competition!. Food consistent with quality ingredients. Main issues are service. Tables not cleaned in a timely manner and messed up my order on more than one occasion.

Compared with Quizno's & Subway, prices are within 10 - 15%. Setting in St. Louis Bread is far better with WIFI and sofas and lounge chairs. People are complaining about the price, yet they go to St Louis Bread anyway. Some menu items fairly priced and other menu items are bit higher than would be expected. The best deal to me seems to be the half soup or salad and half sandwich for about $8 including tax. The same thing at McDonald's (if they had the soup) would be over $6 with tax. We also don't have to speak about which restaurant chain has the healthier ingredients. I'd rate McD's a 5 overall and I'd rate St. Louis Bread a 7 overall.

Cheap?. I wouldn't really consider Bread Co. a cheap restaurant. I just went there this evening and spent $6 on a cold sandwich and for a college student that is a lot of money. The food is excellent though and it keeps me coming back for more.

P.S. Try the smokehouse turkey, it's excellent.

Definitely NOT a Good Value. I love the restaurant, but it is certainly not a good value for the money you spend. I do not know why it is listed under the "cheap eats" category, because THAT it is not!!!!

total addiction. Love thier coffee, Peanut Butter Banana Crunch Bagel, and most of thier sandwiches. It has gotten more pricey, but then again, its about $2 more than McD's and 10 times as good. When its lunch time, the question is which Bread Co? (I recommend Clayton, on Clayton Road--best quality, friendly managers)

One of the newer outposts of the St. Louis institution.. The Scene
Known as Panera Bread everywhere but here, St. Louis Bread Company has spread far beyond its humble roots. The cafes are as omnipresent in St. Louis as Starbucks is in Seattle. And while the classical music and French posters may be gone, the high-quality sandwiches and pastries are not. The St. Louis Hills Bread Company is fairly new, rather large, remarkably clean and very comfortable. It's also got a nice little patio out front.

The Food
The offerings at the Bread Company seem to get more diverse by the hour, but the quality still hasn't waned. Several new scones, bagels, cookies and artisan breads round out the bakery selections. New soups and panini can be found among the cafe standards. But don't worry about all these additions; the old favorites haven't disappeared. Sourdough bread remains a staple, and soup in a sourdough bowl--the perfect winter lunch--is still here. Don't forget about breakfast. Cinnamon rolls, muffins, cobblestones, danishes and other pastries pair perfectly with a cup of the Bread Company's house coffee (a medium-roast Coast Rican blend).

Best Bagels. I love Bread Company, for it's bagels and pasties, they're delicious, and you may think, ok, a bagels a bagel, well not here its not. I recommend trying cinnamon crunch throught the bread slicer.

Good but pricey. Have really good food but expensive. I was there last week and got one of their "new" sandwiches with water - bill was $6.xx and there was very little chicken on the sandwich. Their coffee and bagels are great - also pricey.
